Hi, I recently started using shopify to create my listings and it seems that shopify doesn't not allow sellers to use the best offer on their listing because the inventory API the use from ebay does not have this. I was able to work around this previously because I could edit these listings on ebay and add the best offer to the listing. However as a few days ago I am no longer able to edit these listings and add the best offer to the listing or make any edits from ebay listings created through shopify. This leaves me with no options to use the best offer options which is a crucial part of my full time ebay busines. The weird part is in talking to ebay and shopify it they are acting is if other sellers are not stating complaints of this issue and I find it hard to belive I'm the only one dealing with this. I have reach out the ebay and they said they are researching it and will be in touch. But in the meantime I really need to find a solution or a work around otherwise it going to end up rednering the shopify site I created somewhat useless. If anyone has any input and can offer assistance it would be greatly appreciated, thank you
It looks like there's a problem with this listing.

On the BO being added.......eBay has taken to adding Best Offer to some fixed price listings, I believe they set a fairly high (70%?) auto-decline so you may have had buyers try to make an offer without even knowing.
eBay started doing this for new sellers a few months ago, they are adding it to most listings that are placed with the mobile App and the Quick listing tool.
Maybe you can convince Shopify to tell eBay never to auto-add Best Offer? I'm using third-party listing tools (SixBit) through the API, none of my listings are getting BO added but I'm definitely not a new seller.

Things have gotten even stranger. Now some of my listings are automatically getting Best Offer added to them! There is no apparent ryhme or reason as to which it gets added to. I have absolutely no control over when I want it added and now its even getting added when I don't want it!
I cannot believe eBay has let this situation get so ridiculous.

i agree "Best Offer" is a Great Option to Offer for customers
eBay has set new functions where you can send a Best Offer to customers who are interested in you items
if they are watching your item you can send them an Offer
from Seller DashBoard or the eBay APP
or if they message you
you can Respond with a Best Offer right through the messages
👏 GREAT FEATURES 👏
but still not the same as having the Best Offer Button on your listing
The eBay connect app to connect to Shopify is actually managed by InkFrog 🐸.

Here is the explanation of the problem:
Why the error?
Because you created listings using the Shopify eBay tool and are now trying to revise those listings using something other than that tool.
What's the problem?
eBay, unfortunately, didn't make the new APIs compatible with the trading APIs. This means that no tool that uses the trading APIs including using eBay directly ('Sell Your Item' flow and the vast majority of 3rd party integration tools) can update listings created with the new APIs i.e. the Shopify eBay tool. Using the Shopify eBay tool currently is effectively a one way street.
What don't all solutions use the new APIs?
Because the new APIs aren't feature complete - it's not possible to perform all the operations on listings that merchants need using the new APIs e.g. Best Offer (there are more).
Why did eBay create a tool using new APIs that aren't feature complete or make them backward compatible with the trading APIs?
Great question and one for eBay management. If they had not done either of those things there would be no problem but as it is sellers are stuck with not being able to update listings created with the new APIs using other methods. NOTE this problem extends to editing listings on eBay directly via the normal 'Sell Your Item' flow and all other 3rd party tools!
So what's the solution?
There is no way to update the existing listings except using a tool that uses the new APIs e.g. Shopify eBay tool. If sellers want to use a different method to revise listings (whether that be on eBay directly or using a different 3rd party solution e.g. Codisto, the only solution is therefore to end the original listings created with the new APIs and create new listings using the new method. Ending existing listings can either be done in the old tool (assuming it's still installed) or directly on eBay. Yes, that has some major implications which is why not making the new APIs backwards compatible or feature complete is all the more astounding.
