I was just wondering if there is any recourse for a 3 day account restriction. My account was restricted for apparently listing a recalled product. Looking into this, I did not list a recalled product. The recalled product in question is a riveted blade for the Cuisinart DLC-10, recalled because it falls apart. I was not selling this, I was selling a slicing blade. eBay's bot triggered apparently because they are related or something, and I had DLC-10 and blade in the title. Anyway, has anyone ever had any luck having a restriction lifted early, or if not, if there is a way to have the restriction removed from your record so it doesn't influence future decisions. First photo is of 2 blade attachment that was part of the recall. Second photo is what I was actually selling.

Sorry for your situation. Bots are a pain at times. Try reaching out on social media via FB:

Ebay CS is worthless. Let them know your situation, send them the pics and see if they can get the restriction lifted. Many positive posts here in their ability to be helpful and resolve problems.
Hope it works out for you. Good luck.

Artificial intelligence not as smart as its cracked up to be. Very frustrating and difficult to remedy. When the suspension is listed I would avoid listing that item again. ikey to be caught in the AI web again.
Now I am going to have to check my food processor. Hopefully not recalled 🙂

Apparently it's just the specific blade that you can't list. The rest of the parts are fine, but to be safe I guess you can put the recall info in the listing and this should protect you from having listings taken down and/or suspension. I just learned this reading through eBay's recall policy.

Yeah, it's very unfortunate that their bots aren't a little more nuanced. They probably just see model of food processor and blade and go from that.

Just avoid the phones.
Those clerks work for a subcontractor in Utah. The social media reps get an eBay paycheck.

Bots are only as smart as the people that program them.

@femmefan1946has been posting this incorrect information for a long time (over and over again).
The eBay offices in Draper City Utah opened in 2013, initially with 1800 EMPLOYEES (and a giant data centre)
The offices are in the building at the top (pic below), the data center on the right, space for expansion at the bottom.
The offices
I can't find a current specific staff number but I do know that most if not all US customer service operations are based there and staffed by full time eBay employees. The much vaunted social media support that people recommend ARE BASED IN THIS FACILITY.
Outsourced customer service is based in the Philippines (not India as many claim).

Yeah sure they have....along with just about every company of the Forbes 500 list.
Please don't tell me you think the people who handle eBay's facebook account inquiries work for facebook.

I just think it is beyond ridiculous that in order to get decent customer service that ebay is forcing sellers to facebook.
On amazon discussion boards it is not unusual for a mod to step in and help solve a sellers problem. I have not seen that happen here in many years.
