I wish ebay would make it mandatory for buyers to have a payment method on file & have to pay immediately when accepting or making an offer. I don't like having my inventory not available because I'm waiting for payment that many times never happens!!!

I totally agree with you. Unfortunately, this is how it is done here, and we don't make up the rules.

I have immediate pay on all my listings, however ebay does not make that policy on offers.

They trialed it and as far as I know it is now set up for the seller to set the requirement themselves.
There was a thread about it and I will try to find it.
Not sure if it is an optioin yet for all seller's but worth looking into

It is on the Buyer Management page
https://www.ebay.com/bmgt/buyerrequirements
Scroll down to the bottom and there is a section:
Buyer Payment Requirements
There is a checkbox for:
Require buyers to provide a payment method before they make an offer.

Be sure you understand............Currently, this impacts only a select group of buyers.
So not every sale will be handled this way.......
Read the thread referenced.

????? Was there not years ago some type of note/warning, after buyer offering and seller accepting an offer: Item is still available to another buyer (who may pay full listed price) if that buyer sends immediate payment. ????? First payment received wins?

The simple solution is not to accept offers, and simply reduce the item price instead.
Although it appears eBay is currently testing this functionality with a group of sellers.

Fixed that for ya. Some sellers like to combine shipping. If you give a partial refund for shipping overpayment, you don't get your seller's fees back.

LOL, it’s in Beta testing right now but who knows? Sellers who have complained for years are opting out because now the worry is that it hinders multi-purchase offers.
