Hello all, As a buyer and a seller, I am compelled to re-visit a topic that is make-or-break for me: Listings with nothing but an idiotic, vapid, mindless AI-generated description. These do nothing to describe the item being sold, and are absolutely worthless. eBay: Please stop offering this feature; it is insulting, worthless, and idiotic. Sellers: Please do not use this thought-destroying "feature." It insults anyone who makes it to the description of your item, and adds ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to your ad.
I've personally had it; do as you wish.

You do not need to start another thread to "revisit".
Just bump the other one that you started so the same replies do not clutter the boards.

"The coin is ungraded and uncertified, but its rarity and unique characteristics make it a valuable find for any collector. This small ---------------- is a must-have for any serious collector of S coins."

I agree, the AI-generated descriptions are vapid and worthless. That said, I hope eBay keeps offering them, because it makes my own listings, with painstakingly written descriptions, stand out even more!

Yep, they sound like drug company ads. Pretty soon you'll see video descriptions showing butterflies, puppies and healthy people with perma-smiles dancing in public.

Warning : In my opinion AI may result in slower & lost sales

AI tends to guild the lily and present only positive attributes and selling points. It's a sad state of affairs but there's a whole new generation that cannot write a sentence. Unfortunately for some AI is their only voice. I hope it is not the wave of the future.

Oh, God, don't get me started... oops, too late...
There is probably more to see, but at this point I have already lunged for the Fast Forward button. Another two or three medicine ads in a row and we are finally back to our program... whatever it was... those memory supplements looked awfully tempting...

Agree... the only thing that might be worse are the AI-generated posts that are shared here.
As if no one will see through them.

I hate the AI descriptions. Hate them. They don't include condition details not visible in the photos that are skipped over by the seller. I generally will pass on any item with an AI description unless it is obviously new in sealed package (where the package doesn't matter if it has damage) and I already know what I am buying.

They can be worse that nothing. In some cases they add incorrect info to a listing.

God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, Courage to change the things I can, and Wisdom to know the difference.

Why can't this ^ be pinned to the top of these discussion boards?
