A buyer returned purchase but refuses to state the reason

I sell living memory locket necklaces  on here ,, and they usually have a theme , Mothers day , Thanksgiving , Christmas , Halloween  etc etc ,, many varieties . A few weeks ago I sold a locket to a buyer ,, about a week later  after they recieved it they wrote me a message - quote - What are your return policies '' ? I replied , the buyer pays the return shipping , once the item arrives its inspected to make sure it has not been broken and is in the same new condition as when it was shipped . If so, then a full refund will be issued . They never replied back but a few days later I recieved the locket in the mail  without a single explanation as to why they returned it . I have since let them know I received their purchase and its in perfect condition and so  they will be sent a refund shortly . However what worries me about dealing like this , is I've had buyers before ''borrow'' themed necklaces from me  just to wear on a one day occasion ,, then ask for their money back . Since this particular buyer  this time refuses to give an explanation for returning a perfectly good locket ,,I'm very suspicious I'm being taken advantage of- again. Any suggestions ?

So, this thread has gone from " buyer refuses to state reason for return"

to... I'm on social security disabilty for life due to.....

It's escalated way off topic..

Enough, time to stop picking on the op.

No sir ,, I have not acknowleged any such thing .I said,, I do not know ,, there's a difference there . There's tons of e bay sellers with Disney items , nail art is just another example , its not just jewelry people sell . These people have been doing this month after month year after year and they're still here . This lends  credence  to the idea that if there are scouts looking around for copy rights infringements  then they're  either blind ,  simply don't care , or these sellers aren't  enough of a finanical threat to worry about . Some posters have been adament by adding a disclaimer  then we're fine ,, and that is what I have done .

I have read this whole thread, and what I see is sellers who are trying to help you avoid problems.

Now I get that you first ask about a return with no reason given.

None of us like that, we all want to be good sellers and knowing the problem helps.

You have nice items, I would buy from you in a heart beat.

But there are some products that really guard their name.

Then there was the seller who had "tactial flashlights"

ebay shut him down for selling assult weapons.

and all he was selling was a flashlight.

ebay CS said no problem, just relist the taken down item.

In just a second of relisting, the bots gave him the boot from selling.

This is a direct quote from ebay to me...

the decision of the bots is final, no human can over ride the bots ( I kid you not )

Re: A buyer returned purchase but refuses to state the reason

Lots of Saturday morning confusion here . Lucky enough to have the day off  to have time to read them all and uhh from my view its not the op who made the mountian out of a molehill .I trust all the people giving her the guff are all legal scholars and have the authority to be judge and jury ? Or are they just the lurkers hiding in the dark ready to pounce and hopefully scare away competition ? because from first  look  op just wanted help she may owe a few an apology but she's not the mountian builder by any sense of the word .My wife has had renters and it can be a real  hassel so we do sympathize . Just because op seems  un willing  to take advice may mean she's not convinced the advice pertains to her contents for sale   .It could be right or it could be wrong in her instance .I get a sense of urgent jealousy among some of the  crew here .They see a moderate success in sales  light hearted items and a gold star and they believe they need to knock a otherwise  happy person down a notch . That b.s about only wanting to help  and we check every seller  and make sure they toe the line  is just that B.S .

Re: A buyer returned purchase but refuses to state the reason

I would move on. It is much better than getting an eBay SNAD case. I really don't have issue with buyer return item without any reason but I do have problem with buyer file a SNAD without contact me first. I really think EBay should make the buyer contact the buyer for returning the item first before the buyer can file a SNAD since eBay force seller to take return. The buyer should not file a claim if the seller take the return and refund the money in full. They buyer can file a claim if there is an issue to get the money then eBay can get involved.

I wasn't referring to you,, nor am I the person who first brought up that I and other sellers  could be in violation  of copyrights .That was a copy and paste remark made by another poster trying to warn me about copyright issues  someone else brought up first   .  I tacked it on to my reply to them .  The real question  is why though  ? Why was this copy right issue  even brought up in the first place and  by someone I had not any contact with  before they sent a pretty nasty message to  me about it  ? What did I do to deserve such spiteful remarks ? It certainly had nothing to do with the topic of the thread that I began ,, so why would someone  try and worry another seller  that had done  nothing  against  them?  I think the real reason for all the arguements  that ensued   afterwards lies in the answer to those questions .

Turquoistulips, the reason it was brought up was because people on the boards can click on your ebay username and find out things about you, your listings, and other things.     There is a reason many many posters here have a "posting id" which is basically anonymous.  Nothing can be found out by clicking on a posting id.

I'm not going to get into any debate about returns or copyright infringements or anything else but I just wanted to say your lockets are very adorable and I will be ordering some.

Re: A buyer returned purchase but refuses to state the reason

It is curious why you added the list .What was the motive behind doing it? Are you fixin to make trouble or are you hoping you'll attract a pasty to do it for you ? Are you that jealous ? patrickw to mismary

Thanks for  coming forth  with   the obvious  reality     . I got  a humorous image when I read her post.  I imagined someone  hitting send then gleefully  dancing off clicking the heels  all the way !! lol

Re: A buyer returned purchase but refuses to state the reason

Actually I did move on quite some time ago from the orginial question I began the thread  with . The buyer was refunded and its all over now . The only reason this thread kept on and on  is because some posters decided to change the subject and then I was under attack  with all kinds of accusations . I had to defend myself or be eaten alive . Truly there are some unhappy  , insecure , bitter , angry and envious   people in this world and most of the causes of all that have zero to do with other e bay sellers  or their products . However as Jonkind pointed out its very easy for these types to lash out and attempt to inflict their misery  on others from the safe security  behind a computer screen .

Incredible. You acknowledged my advice about "not feeding the trolls" at one point, then you post this today about "having to defend yourself or be eaten alive".

I wonder, can we call a mod here to lock this thread as it seems like it will never end?

I feel like OP is bored and lonely and this has just become a place for her to socialize now.

Unless posters here go over the line and mods have to come in and readjust, the only way to lock the thread if for the original poster to request it.

You should check first and see I wasn't replying to a ''troll '' . I was replying to a legitimate poster offering advice .She wrote to me FIRST  and I simply responded . Please do not assume the  reasoning  behind  it ., this is a DISCUSSION forum  and I used it as such .
