2024 Biggest Fraud Package not received

At a total miss here and trying my best not to get besides myself. 

sold 2 items, provided tracking number. 
items delivered and confirmation received. 

10 days after, caller mentions only receiving 1.

 

advised id reach out to USPS and label provider for confirmation in 24hrs (this was on a Sunday)

 

Monday I reached out stating would have to wait another day for response as it was the weekend and most places take 24-48hrs to respond. 

Tuesday case opened, for item not received. 

My label provider and USPS confirmed delivered on Wednesday… called EBay same day to confirm fear of fraud, they told me case should go in my favor as all items show delivered and to no longer responde. Long story short next Monday comes around and it’s refunded and sided to the buyer.

 

buyer doesn’t live far at all, what should I do? 
no not inciting violence, but police report anything this is obviously fraud.

The question is there fraud from the buyer or from Ebay Corporation?

 

So you combined 2 items in one order?  Or were the items paid separately?  In that case, did you enter the tracking on both items?

     I am going to make a couple of assumptions. First I am guessing that you did not respond to the case and upload the tracking information showing the item as being delivered. Second that after 4 days the buyer asked eBay to step in and since you had not responded to the case eBay sided with the buyer, fully refunded them and close the case. 

    FYI you do not have to "reach out to USPS" to get tracking information you can simply pull the information from USPS tracking directly or click on the tracking number in your order and pull up the tracking information and copy and load the information into the case response. 

     You should be aware that eBay customer support is abysmal these days and they will tell you what you want to hear to get you off the phone even if that means lying to you. This forum will, in most cases, provide you with better help than eBay customer support. 

     At this point the case is closed from eBay's perspective and while you can file a police report it will probably do little good. It may in fact be accurate that the package was delivered but USPS may have delivered it to the wrong address or the buyer may have been the victim of porch pirates.  

     Sorry this happened to you and hopefully the item was not too expensive.

Two items in the same box and one of the items went missing. Could it be the box got opened along the way? I have seen that happen before. It's not the Sellers fault, however the Seller still needs to take responsibility.

How do you call eBay? eBay has to call you after you requested a call through Help & Contact.

Your only defense for an item not received case is you must have uploaded the tracking numbers before your handling time, and  if a case  is opened to respond by putting the tracking number in the case.  Then it closes in your favor. 

APPEAL and explain tracking shows delivered and they might give you a courtesy refund.
