2022 $600 eBay/IRS coercion

I think it is very courageous of eBay to go after the myriad of grandmothers selling over $600 in annual sales.  Wait until the effects of what eBay is doing hits Wall Street, the 10% drop this week will seem insignificant.

When I die and go to rock 'n' roll heaven, I'm going to play drums with the Ronettes ... if I can bump Hal Blaine out from behind the kit.

Agree! Ebay should have taken 1% of those HUGE profits from the last 10 years, and lobbied our lawmakers. Shame on you EBAY. JPB

O they did along with every other ecommerce platform. The lobby was not so much on behalf of the sellers but was in eBay's own interest. Just like the collection of the sales tax the 1099 requirements have an administrative cost to eBay. Constant code and software changes to keep up with the 10,000+ individual sales tax laws along with having to deal with all the individual states that changed the 1099 reporting thresholds before the federal requirement even went into, or will go into, effect for the 2022 tax year.
