cancelling PayPal

If I'm selling on Ebay, can I still make sales if I cancel PayPal that I use for transactions?

As a seller, you don't need Pay Pal to sell here.

I haven't researched in a while but I heard PayPal makes it very difficult to close your account. Again, not sure if this is still the case.

You don't  need PayPal to sell.  However, using PayPal for buying gives you 180 days to file 

a dispute instead of 30 days protection  that eBay gives you.
