All of my listings are 'Buy it Now' and most are set to allow offers. I always set a minimum amount to those listings and I do not select the auto-accept setting on any of those listings.
What I started to notice, even before the new listing tool was rolled out, was that I would get an email alert for an offer on an item. Then, if I did not respond within a a couple of hours, I would get an alert that the item had sold. At first I thought maybe someone else had bought it while the original offer was still unresolved. Or maybe the original intended buyer panicked and decided to pay full price just to make sure they got it before someone else.
Then the pattern became clear. In all cases (maybe 5 or 6 times now) the sale has occurred automatically for the price the buyer had offered. The amount is always at or above the minimum amount set for that item so it's not unreasonably low, but if I had wanted it that way I would have selected the auto-accept feature and set the pricing differently. I intentionally set it so that there is room for a counter-offer but if this continues without a fix, I will set my allow offer setting higher since it is functioning essentially as a default auto-accept button.
If anyone has run into this problem or something similar or knows a work-around, I'd love to see the responses.
Thanks

What minimum amount are you setting if it’s not the auto accept?
Your items are BIN or BO. If they were auction with BO a minimum amount would be the starting bid but in this case, it’s the auto accept.

There was a similar post the other day concerning the same thing you are experiencing. Many replies from members here have also experienced the same issue on both laptop and apps.
When you post a listing and put the price in, right below the price it states "more options" click on that and you'll see that ebay is actually lowering the price to attempt to sell it quickly. Uncheck that box and keep an eye on it. Also when you complete a listing another screen will appear at the end and states..."Boost your item to help it sell quicker", uncheck the "I agree to the terms and conditions " and then check "no thanks"
It's called "Easy pricing" and it can sneak up on you if you don't watch it. This was also my experience. So now when I list something, I double check to make sure it's still disabled. Good luck and hopefully this will solve your problem.

I’ve come across this, fortunately for me I noticed only when I went to revise a listing, it showed on offers a very low accept price that I knew nothing about. I’ve checked numerous listings since and seen the same thing. It shouldn’t be done automatically like this, it can cause disappointment for buyers and sellers. I didn’t know why it’s happening so thanks for your post, I’ll look carefully in future, but it isn’t something that jumps out at you and seems to happen more on relisting unsold items.
