I purchased a camera on June 7 and seller gave a tracking number that doesn’t have my house address only city and zip are the same. Ebay posted that package was delivered but only to find out it was not to me or my home. Ebay and PayPal should not just accept that item delivered to same city and zip as confirmation of “delivered”. Ebay will not confirm with USPS that the tracking has a different house address. I will have to provide proof myself. Which i am in the process of doing. Ebay wants a police report, however, the package was never delivered to me. Plus, the tracking number is for a first class letter 1oz and not a package that should weigh about 4 to 5 pounds. Ebay and PayPal boasts about Buyer Protection…i will see how true they are to their policy. I don’t want to out $489.99 This is my first major purchase with ebay thru PayPal, thinking i will have more security. However, it’s been a nightmare. People come up with new scams all the time. Ebay and PayPal should do more to help the victims. Starting by only send confirmation of delivery when they have the full name and full address!!! Not just city and zip code. Really?? This cannot be the first time that this has happened.

This happened to me once with a $400 item. After supplying the information I got from the USPS (same zip code and town, but different street address) eBay refunded my money. This was a while ago. I don't remember having to file a police report though. Remember you can also file a claim with your credit card company if one was used if eBay and PayPal won't refund you. I would use all of my appeals with eBay and use the credit card chargeback as a last resort.
