Sports Trading cards revision deadline - post here if you are stuck

eBay's sports trading card deadline for the item specific "Graded" arrived today.

Sellers with variation listings could not modify their item specifics until they resolved conflicts with the variation name "Card Attributes".  Now sellers can not bulk update the "Card Attribute" conflict until they add the "Graded" item specific (most will state "No" as the graded item specific) .

Catch-22.

Time to move to Plan B.

For those sellers who still have listings with hundreds of variations to update, but who missed the opportunity to use the bulk variation scanner provided here, and who now can't bulk update at all, the next solution is to include the full set of item specifics in the bulk revision of variations.  We can not simply add the missing attribute. Unfortunately, the whole set of Item Specifics must be restated in a bulk revision. I'm working on some sort of solution.

I've got two tools to work with.

The Variation Scanner will pull in the variation data.

The task will be to merge the two spreadsheets and restate the old item specifics with eBay's new headings and values.

Sorry to be long on this. I thought I had my problem solved.  I would love help changing the attribute but would I need to change the category first?

Do you have problem with a whole category, or with just a few remaining items? We worked on so many issues that I'm not sure what was left to do.

I am afraid I do.  I need to change the "Number" attribute to "Card Number.  I also need to change a few of the categories for some of them.

The Entertainment category. There shouldn't be much in those.  

I just tried to update a listing with the attribute "Card Number".  It appears that neither "Number" or "Card Number are acceptable. Do you happen to know what will work.  I had called Ebay this morning and asked about using "Card Number" and was told I could use that but it did not work when I tried.

Many are now using Card#, since eBay is now avoiding symbols and punctuation in the headings that are reserved for item specifics. That also means you could use Card-Number or Card_Number, which contain symbols/punctuation.

You have three variation listings in Entertainment. What would you like in place of "Card Number"?

I don't know if I can't use Number or card number, I am at a loss.  Do you have any suggestions?

Can I use Card Number  When I tried that the system would not let me update. It said Card Number is not an acceptable attribute.

Card # would be fine. I now know that even the non sports and sports cards have Card Number and I can no longer update them as well.

Would it be possible to change ALL to Card#?

Yes, it would be possible to change ALL to Card#. However, if there are other mandates, in addition to the variation names, it may take some coordination to change everything in one pass. We should schedule some time when you can work with me on this issue because the data becomes stale over time.

I'll start looking at this today and download some reports.

Do you have any reports in your Seller Hub with "required" Item Specifics, or other mandates, to fix? If so, you'll want to download those reports and prepare to send them to me if I need them.

This will probably take four to six hours today, but not all in one chunk. So just check in every so often to see if I need something. I'll send a private message through community messages with my email so that you can fetch files. When I have a report for you to upload, you will need to download the "results" spreadsheet that contains error messages. Then I'll rework the file and you'll need try it again, and so forth.
