I’ve done this many times. Buyer has lent paid after 4 days and I cancel because buyer refused to pay. Today I try to do it and I was offered 3 options: out of stock or damaged, buyer asked to cancel, issue with buyers shipping address”. None of these pertain to the issue and none would leave strikes against the buyer. Does anyone know why?

I thought the 4 day non payment thing was automated and only if you go out of your way to turn it off, would it be turned off?

It seems like it isn't automated unless the seller makes it that way. (Some sellers may want, for whatever reason, to give buyers a little more time to pay.

You don't want to "cancel the sale", you want to close the automatic NPB process, assuming you have not turned it off. Read the full policy and how to take action here:

if you were only offered 3 options then most likely it was less than 96 hours
after 96 hours its very simple to cancel for non payment
I do all my cancels manually since I have a few bidders who will make a pile of winnings over 10-15 days
