New Listing Tool - Has Anyone Tried It?

I tried the new listing tool & immediately switched back after trying it once. The amount of clicking I had to do to list one item was frightening to say the least.

I list one of a kind items & it doesn't work for me.

Does anyone know if it's an option or will it be the only listing template to use on Ebay?

It won't let me crop photos. I switched computers to see if it was any different on it. It allowed me to crop on the 2nd laptop. But that laptop isn't the one I want to use!!

The whole listing page is a HUGE headache.

Is there Any way to go back to the original lister???

@babclassics

I agree- unfortunately I think the decision was made long ago and now they are trapped within the confines of what they did..... that being said- isnt it all just ones & zero's? cant they duplicate the look and function of the original classic  on the desktop? I fear that it is a stubborn arrogance that prevails and says we know what is better and you are going to like it!  But I am in absolutely no way able to speak to programming.  All I know is that this great new format is hindering if not stopping us from listing on ebay .   My thought is this- even if the two formats are not compatible- then its time to back it up and say OK we made a judgement error and we can devote the server space to running the new tool and the classic simultaneously.  Only ebay can constantly reinvent the wheel and make it come out square.   I dont even blame the design teams for this... they are probably just trying to do the best they can - I blame the upper management and an overall lack of direction and continuity in the company.  It is run by lawyers and accountants , not business owners so they really dont care- they are just placeholders sucking off the ebay teat for a few years and then they take their golden parachutes and move on. It is systemically wrong and probably is a huge problem for publicly traded companies.  Just sucks that they dont care about ruining our businesses while they make their millions.

Yes go back to one of your active listings, click on sell similar & there's an option at the top of the page to go back to original.

Go back to your active listings page, click "sell similar" in the drop down of one of your listings. When you get to the listing page there's an option on top right to go back to original listing option.

Not everyone have new great PC computers for looking for stuff. Not sure if this new system will work for buyers and sellers.  Plus I look at stuff on my new Iphone. I have a seller who I can't get his pictures on my PC but I can get them on my Iphone.

He is the only seller I have a problem with.

A lot of seniors here selling and buying.

I suggest we all save up for this rainy day coming when we have to be forced to use this new system.

that  trick no longer works for some of us as the rollout forces more people in. Our only hope is to send a firm message to ebay in numbers that they cannot ignore! this tool is not usable. It is tripling the listing time at best and is not sustainable or practical for a business to use

If you really hate it, call customer service for assistance. I still have the option to go back to original listing tool.

I do not have the option of going back. I just tried to do 2 similar listings and every time I launched it the entire sale except photos went back to the previous listings stats. What a nightmare. Mobile seems to be working fine. Looks like I will have to retire the NEW laptop I just bought exclusively for Ebay listing.

Its almost hilarious at this point- the whole reason they switched to this module based mobile technology was to make it more stable and easier to update and fix.... must not be the programming- must be the people.  Lots of reports of what you are saying- fields all disappearing

So not only does it suck to use- it does not even work

"when we have to be forced to use this new system."

My time is more valuable then being forced to use a time wasting listing method...

there are choices and I already have my items on other selling sites, which means I shall be utilizing them more & more. Over the years I have managed to accept, adapt, adjust and carry on with all the crap on eBay, but this mid-70s eBay seller is not about to spend more time listing, endure eye strain over a poorly designed hard on the eyes listing format. At my age, I simply don't need this!  I use a desk top computer= hate laptops, hate iphones, ipads,cell phones, hate mobile devices of every kind...

@mrdutch1001

great for you! I hope i have as much energy as you when I'm in my mid 70s.  And as much wisdom- my time is more valuable as well so I'm going to follow suite and list on other platforms until this mess of a tool either looks and functions exactly as the classic or they give us the option to return to classic until this tool is better(although i don't know how it could be made better than the classic which is a great time tested battle proven tool. I like it better than any of the 3rd party listing tools- there is absolutely no good reason to get rid of it.

I have not added a single listing in 7 days now since being forced into the new tool..... That equals about 140-200 unique vintage medium to high value items that are not on this platform now..... I admit, My items DO sell better on eBay than anywhere else and I live selling here..... But I just can't stand the unified experience... Full time sellers demand a better, optimized to our device experience.  It's all the rage, every other platform optimisers for the device not dumb it down to a phone app. The have been doing it for years lol
