Just tried the new listing tool. Like the idea of adding video (although will likely rarely use it) and the remove background feature, but the layout and functionality is not user friendly. It looks pretty, but lets be honest, I just want raw data entry not some fancy looking GUI interface that I have to click through to edit (shipping), weights/dimesnions (not automatically pop up have to click through), the +/- feature for promoted listing % that would show you what the fee would be.
eBay...live by the old adage...if it isn't broke, don't fix it. Not thing wrong with the old format. they new one takes longer to get a listing done.
Anyone else find the new format frustrating?

I haven't slowed down enough to even notice it. How will I find it? A background remover might be nice.

LOL...it will pop up in the upper right corner asking if you want to try it out when you go to add a new listing.
And I love the beater reference!!!

A lot of people don't like the new format. eBay calls it the new Unified Lister because they hope to merge the Quick Lister and Business Lister into one tool that looks just like the Mobile App. Of course, people who use a desktop typically do so because they don't like a condensed display or because they want a real keyboard.
I had no problem using the Unified Lister (it's gradually getting better as people offer feedback), but I do live in the camp of wanting to see everything at once, rather than opening little windows of discovery.
Ultimately, eBay plans to move all desktop sellers to the Unified Lister and will retire the Quick and Business Listers, so it is a good idea to get some practice using it ahead of time. I think the new tool has finally caught up to all of the features of the Business Lister and is probably in the final stage of shaking out any remaining bugs.

How do I turn this thing off?? I tried it today and it slows me down tremendously. Wasting my day with this thing, please guide me how to opt out.

At the top right of the listing tool you should see the option to return to your old listing tool. A comment window will open for your feedback. I would recommend pointing to specific issues instead of just "wasting my time" so that the team will have some point of focus.

I was very detailed, thanks.

I don't like it and want to opt out. I have a set description of policy that I copy and paste into each listing that the tool combines the words on me constantly! Even when I edit it and list, I go to my listing and the words are recombined.

I have tried the new listing tool several times in the last year or so and found it slow awkward poorly arranged hard to use.
I heard about the ability to try video so I wanted to try it again. 24 hours after posting the video is still "awaiting approval" how are they going to manage when its opened up to all if videos need to be reviewed / approved.
besides that even though the new tool has improved from the last time I tried it, it still took me 3 times as long to create a listing as with the classic business desktop tool.
Still had to open edit enter save items instead of just entering them.
poor arrangement I started with one of my existing listings using sell similar started at the top, with title, got through all the item specifics before coming to ebay category which I had to change (not as easy to change as with old tool, didn't get suggestions based on title), then had to go back up to redo item specifics for new category.
item description removed my background color and even if I went to enter it in HTML would not accept it.
original list was fixed price GTC and I found it difficult / very time consuming to change to 10 day auction with starting and buy it now price.
I think its now over a year in development since I first tried it and based on my experience today looks like it will never be as usable as existing classic tool.
Suggestion; scrap it and just add background removal and video to the classic tool.
Mobile and desk top are different and one tool cant be efficient for both.

The new tool is terrible. I have to assume this is getting pushed because a lot of sellers are using mobile or touch devices to list, and the developers at Ebay don't want to deal with keeping several tools going.

It's Horrible. Not user-friendly at all.
I just tried listing an item that weighs 3lbs and 9 oz measures 9x6x5 for shipping, it gave me 1st class mail. Now if I was new to this I would be screwed. So I went in to change the shipping options and picked UPS Ground and Priority mail as an option and the charges were not correct. They were way off. For instance --
UPS Ground 1-5 business days | $8.20 (-30%) $11.73 | $10.13 (-32%) $14.92 | $13.56 (-35%) $20.88 |
USPS Priority Mail 2-5 business days | $8.34 (-20%) $10.55 | $11.54 (-22%) $14.95 | $20.77 (-13%) $24.05 |

The new listing tool stinks, too complicated, pictures take twice as long to load as does cropping them.

I am sticking with the old tool, the new one is harder to use and way slower, unfortunately eBay states they will be fazing out the old tool. May stop listing my items then.

How do you opt to have multiple shipping options with this new tool? For example, I like to offer both Fed Ex and Priority mail on large heavy items. I haven't found a way to add more than one option. This is a major flaw.
