Is it possible to select multiple options when searching?

Sorry for stupid question...

Up to very recently, I was able to select (as an example of dress shirts)

Range of sizes

Range of length

Type of cuffs

etc.

It seems that all those options are gone. How to bring them back?

Question is not stupid.

eBay has been working on the search functionality, of late. Many have complained of missing item specifics.

This member may be able to help you create a search url that you could place on the url line of your browser, to do only the search you wish. But they can not add functionality that eBay has dropped. You may be better off to just use the search form (when eBay puts back the missing pieces).

As dollybeauty said, eBay is really messing with search, and also with Item Specifics and categories at the moment. No idea what it will be when the dust settles.

It appears your issue with limited filtering options has to do with categories or lots of returned search results, and the detailed filtering options don't appear in the first search in all categories.

3 ways to "fix" it that I see.

1. Try this: Do your search (say for "dress shirts"), and then add &_oac=1 to the end of the URL in the address bar and hit enter to load that search with the new parameter (don't hit the search button - that doesn't add the new parameter)

Now the size, sleeve length, cuff style, etc options should appear on the left. After that point you can use the search button since the parameter stays in the URL (mostly).

2 You can also perform the same maneuver by doing your search, narrowing down the category to dress shirts using the left navigation (at which point the detailed options appear), and then back out to "All" categories using the left nav again. The _oac=1 parameter gets added by eBay and you can proceed with searching and refining.

3. Another way that worked for the "dress shirts search was to enter dress shirts in the search bar field, select "Clothing, Shoes, & Accessories" in the category dropdown on the search bar, and then hit search. Detailed filters seem to appear when category is narrowed down that way. (no _oac parameter is involved in this case, but does get added if you go back to all categories)

Note that depending on what you search for and where, the _oac=1 parameter may fall off (a search where it isn't at all applicable like items with few categories maybe?) and you may have to put it back again if you move on to searching for dress shirts again. It looks like eBay defaults to few or no detailed search filter options for broad, non-category searches.

This can probably be automated using the a Redirector (Firefox, Chrome, Opera, Vivaldi, others) addon rule if you want to go that route.

Re: Is it possible to select multiple options when searching?

It may work. But risk is that sellers didn't put in all data, or not all data correctly. When I do a listing, I put in most item characteristics, maybe not always all.

So I do always both, detailed search, and search by keywords when I look for items.

Re: Is it possible to select multiple options when searching?

you asked for replies relative to limited options while searching.  i wanted to sort my purchase history so i could view only those items purchased from one particular seller...i was flabbergasted that i could not find a way to do this.  when viewing any other account  it's a very simple thing to sort details to whatever  categories you find pertinent at that particular moment.  i should be able to click "sort" and be able to view my purchases according to whatever data i am in need of...such as sorting by price, quantity purchased, date purchased, color, type of item, seller purchased from, etc.  some examples:

1.  show items purchased for under $10.00

2. show all items purchased in quantity of 2 or more of identical items

3. show items purchased before 11/4/19

4. show all books purchased

5.  show all items purchased from "sellersuchandsuch"

i feel as though i'm living in the 1950's.

On your purchase history page, you should see a "tell us what you think" link and a floating feedback icon. Use those to send your ideas to the team that owns that page.
