How can you search for old hotmail e-mails faster when scrolling?

I have e-mails on my hotmail that go back years and in order to find them I have to scroll a long time. Can anyone give any advice on how I can scroll down to get them faster?

I use hotmail, have you tried using the filter on the inbox page? On the inbox page at the upper right click on filter. On the drop down menu click sort, then use sort by oldest.

There are other selections, you can pick  what best suits you. Maybe sort by title, subject ect. ? 

What I usually do after reading an email that I may want to keep is I set up different folders by categories and then place the read emails using the "move to" drop down menu. you can experiment with that and see if that works, I have about 7 different folders I created long ago, it helps me find things faster by going to the category I saved it under.

I only have the phone app and no computer.  I can’t find a filter button on my Hotmail, just an edit button, which doesn’t include being able to filter by oldest Emails first.  Do I need to have a computer?  I can’t seem to find a Settings button either
