Feedback made "woke"!? Seriously?

I sold some lamps and was shorted on shipping charges!  I lost a lot of money on this "sale" because Ebays shipping program is corrupted, so I have a noticable statement in ALL of my selling posts that the buyer MUST contact me for CORRECT shipping charges!  This buyer did not, and refused to pay any more than what the corrupted Ebay program told her was the shipping charge.

I was going to leave some negative feedback and they ONLY "option" is positive feedback now???!!!

How WOKE is that!!!

Ebay just doesn't want people selling on thier site anymore!  How is an HONEST and ETHICAL seller supposed to do a legitimate business without PROPER feedback one way or the other?   HOW are we supposed to know who the crooks are?  Who the cheaters are?  Who the liars are?  Who the scammers are?  Without LEGITIMATE feedback posts??

I for one am DONE with Ebay.  They've gone completely corrupt now.  It's not even worth selling anything on here, as they take most of the sales, post WRONG shipping charges, and now cut out the only way we had to sift out the criminals from the honest shoppers.

Good riddence to bad rubbish!!!

The inability to provide negative feedback to buyers has been in force many years now. It predates "woke".

A buyer is not a crook just because eBay policy says that the shipping displayed at checkout is what the buyer must pay, and that the seller can not ask for more money after the sale.

I am curious why the displayed shipping charges do not match actual . Is the listing including accurate weight and dimensions of the packaged item? Bulky items can incur excess charges due to oversize "dimensional weight".  Additionally, a seller can add a handling charge to calculated shipping, and this charge can be used to purchase insurance and signature confirmation.

eBay goes off the info that YOU provide.

Been selling on here for 18 years and never had this problem.

And your No Returns, As-Is means diddly squat. A buyer can always get a refund...

You say these are each about 18 inches tall....your listing shows Priority mail, 2 pounds 12 ounces, and

12.3 x 10 x 8

How does the shipping charges based on WHAT information YOU provided when the listing was made warrant a negative for the buyer? YOU need to provide shipping information when you make the listing, not after the buyer has bought. The buyer pays what they see based on their location. The notation in red in very tiny letters does not mean anything, that is not how it works on eBay.

Anyway, Happy Trails to you best of luck elsewhere.

The two Thomas Kincaid lamps say both lamps are about 2 feet tall.

That's an oversize package.  Plus FedEx is notorious for additional surcharges slapped on you if you make the label on eBay.

@chaidragonfire @What size was your package? A package weighing less than 30 lbs and measuring more than 84 inches but no greater than 130 inches in length and girth is classified as an oversize1 package, and will be charged the same as a 30 lb package.

Larger than 108 inches and less than 130 is OS2, and is charged the same as a 50 lb package.

If you have an oversize  package you can double check if the shipping cost is correct  by looking at the listing and in the shipping details put in a zip code ( I use 60601) and see what a buyer from Chicago is seeing.  Then go to the FedEx site and calculate the shipping cost.

Questions to ask yourself- are you passing along the shipping discounts to the buyer in your preferences or are they seeing retail cost?  Just saying make sure your duckies are in a row when you double check. Make sure you've selected the proper package type.

1.) You are incorrectly listing your shipping dimensions and/or weight

2.) You CANNOT tell a customer to 'pay more' than what is shown. You can't do that in a store, at a garage sale...anywhere.

3.) as stated, you cannot leave 'negative feedback' for customers because this is a "selling website" (does NOTHING more than that) so you don't badmouth your customers.

You can 'leave' as you state, but if you just fixed what you are doing wrong, you can still make $$ and at the end of the day; that's what the site is for.

So, you screwed up on the shipping, buyer paid and you want to give them negative feedback because they won't pay anymore then what was shown in the listing.

If you mess up the shipping, you can't ask the buyer to pay anymore then what was shown.

Have a great day.
