Big beautiful bill

Was wondering with the new big beautiful bill passed I have some people posted on you tube that the selling limits is now 20,000 before you get a 1099 form .. I looked on eBay it is still saying 2,500.
Can someone tell me if it has changed to the 20,000

Thanks

$2,500.   With that said, you still need to file income.

Yep. All income.

@jgraese

Go by what is on the irs site. eBay will follow what is stated on the irs site.
This is not an eBay issue, it’s a governmental issue.

It won’t be known until late December what the actual law is for 2025.

It doesn't matter if you get a 1099K, you still have to report your income.

It's really irrelevent because you have to claim your income on your tax returns whether you get a 1099 or not. Just because one does not get a 1099 that doesn't make it "free money". Plus, some States require a 1099 at $600 anyway.

In before the I sold a shirt at a yard sale for $3.00 in cash (bra money) and reported it as income because it's my civic duty crowd. It looks like i'm late, about as late as Bezos and Musk paying their fair share.

Beware of all the Tax Karen's around here who scour these forums every day hour by hour for people asking questions like yours but never directly answer the question. They only say "it doesn't matter if you get a 1099 or not, you have to report all your income blah blah blah...".

At least Karen knows the tax law. Even the IRS.gov site says to report all income.

Al Capone killed many, robbed many, coerced many- yet he was convicted/imprisoned simply for 'Tax Evasion'.

Too bad Karen wasn't in business in the 20's.
