BUG report - offer received - misleading info

I didn't get a screenshot but here's the issue:

I have item for sale for $20; shipping is specified as calculated and buyer pays between $8 and $20 (it's the same service but ultimate price depends on buyer location.)

So I get an offer for the item for $10.  But the offer screen says "Buyer offers $10 + $8 shipping"; the "+ $8 shipping" is fainter font and appears to have been calculated/automatically included, but unclear whether the ultimate offer is fixed at $18 or not.

I look up the buyer's address and it's at the opposite end of the country.  I know no way will the item ship for $8, in fact it will probably be $20.

But based on all the info ebay provided in the offer, it only says the buyer will pay $10 + $8.

I'm inclined to decline the offer because I'll get stuck paying more to ship then I got paid for the item including shipping.

Ebay needs to fix that offer screen to make it clear what the buyer is offering to pay, i.e., in my case, it should have said "Buyer offers $10 + $8-$20 calculated shipping"

Ultimately I accepted the offer and the buyer paid $10 for the item and the full $20 shipping, but again, the offer screen did NOT say that was going to happen; it only said buyer would be paying $10 + $8.

offers do not have anything to do with shipping.if you accept an offer its the price + shipping.

if you do nt have the shipping calculator set up correctly then you will lose.

many sellers have problems with the calculator being set up wrong........its a common thing on the boards.

I am unsure what to say other than that buyers can not dictate shipping costs with an offer.

BUG report - offer received - misleading info

I guess that's my point...if the buyer is not making an offer on shipping, then why does the offer screen sent to me list what appears to be an offer on shipping?

Based on your input and the way my item was set up, the offer title should have said:

"Buyer offers $10 + $8-$20 shipping"

Instead the screen title reads:

"Buyer offers $10 + $8 shipping"

Which would appear more correct?  I can attest the ebay screen says the latter, but it is not the correct answer.  I'd call that a bug.
