App bug on item specifics

So, I went to revise a listing--wanted to add a photo--using the app since I can snap a shot on my phone and easily update.

 

I go into upload--no problem. However, when I click the revise button it says I have to edit item specifics. Don't get me started on how useless they are for what I sell. Anyhow, I go in and edit one others are already being used and every time I hit revise I get the same pop up you need to edit item specifics.

 

Come on eBay. The app overall needs a major overhaul but this is a frustrating bug.

 

I will advocate here as I have a few other places for a streamlined app only for selling that's super smooth to use, has a high quality photo editor, and is designed for people to post on the run.

How do we turn off this item specifics app, its not working properly

When we update item specifics they re appear again & again, some wont even take our specifics comes back with sentence saying (The provided condition id is invalid for the selected primary category id) why even ask if it wont take the answers

waist our time when we could be listing other items

I think we have been doing this long enough to know what specifics information we have on our items to put them in our original listings

Please turn this off or show us how so we can

Selling antique ironstone china, because I have china in the heading item specifics it listed as made in CHINA. I tried adding all required item specifics in several listings to the point where my arm ached. Even after adding the ridiculous  item specifics (that absolutely DO NOT APPLY to a piece of antique Staffordshire pottery) and saving, after adding  item specifics and save, I get ADD ITEM SPECIFICS????????  Absurd!!!!  Is Ebay trying to ruin the Ebay seller business?

After spending hours trying to add item specifics, no item specifics or changes have been made, that's right, they get wiped out?

I am having the same problem, I contacted ebay and they say they don't have the ability to change categories! They are just helping us provide information to sell items. So I asked if my Easter items will sell better now that they changed the category to "Tableware and Serving Pieces". They said that the item specifics would take care of that. Too frustrating and I think that is why sales are down. I told her I would be confused if I saw figurines in Tableware and Serving pieces. No help from ebay. They just keep saying this will help people find items easier. Yeah right!!!!!!!

Yes!    Item Specifics are USELESS.   I sell identified ceramics and children's books.  Everything a potential buyer needs to know is in my title.

 

AND YES, the app does not work.

Besides the fact that they removed eBay-specific notification tones (like ka-ching), I am being asked over and over to update the same listings.  I CAN SEE THE NEW INFO I ENTERED, I press "done" and next thing I know, it's popped up asking for the same useless stuff.

Item specifics MAY be helpful if I sold electronics, items with part numbers, specific measurements, etc, etc.
But no.

We have DONE the app thing.   I removed it, I reloaded it.  I'm using an Android S21G PLUS, an up-to-date phone that maybe you just do not support?

You also took away the ka-ching.  Now, your notifications sound just like every other notification I get.
I prefer to use a computer (I'm a seller, and computer keyboards are easily managed as opposed to apps).

Sometimes I spend 30 min or more making sure I have filled in all I can on Item specifics and come back the next day and they are all gone!! From what I can tell the customer doesn't see them either.  Seems a waste of my time.  What I'm trying to do now is put Item Specifics on the 17 different hats that I have in Variations. Can someone PLEASE get with me on how to do that!!! I'm about to cry!

You work for customer service, so you have technical team to help

So If you cannot help then what makes you think posting on mobile app would do any better, not

eBay should go thru & clear all the add specific items list & then once they figure out what the problem is then relaunch it

We get Add item specifics then when we click on it it doesnt give us the option to add the specifics items it recommends

This has been going on for 6 months or longer

Now it wants us to add item color when the item is listed as brass. so funny

It ask us to add measurements,

everyone of our listings have measurements in the items description that buyers would want to know

It takes a minute to list so why waist our time making us go back & add item specifics that are already in the listing

The biggest annoyance with the item specifics notifications is they NEVER say which specifics NEED to be updated or added. Most of the time it is useless information that is already either in another item specific or is in the title and the description and can be flipping seen in the photos. I want to ignore the item specifics notifications but when I am looking at my list of listings checking on some of the other data the note/link to adjust specifics sticks out like a sore thumb. Sometimes the specifics they want added/changed are not specific to the listing at all, but you can't get rid of the notice to change item specifics unless you change that non-related specific.

Thank you so much for your reply. I was just in I/S today & can't see that anything has changed. I have a vase that has almost worn it's welcome out here on ebay and ALL OF THE ITEM SPECIFICS that I KNOW darn well were there are all gone! It is soooo frustrating. Got a reply from customer service that said I should do them on the android app and not on the desk top. The only reason I use the laptop is my eyesight is bad. 

AND WHY WHY WHY WHY does there have to be a difference from app to desk-top
