I tried to find this feature but cannot find it. Does anybody know is it ONLY for store owners? It says in the Seller hub, so it must be for Stores.

The tool is available when creating a social post directly from Seller Hub.

I have not tried it, but I participated in the sellers check in where they discussed and walked through the process. To me it could be a game changer for those who post on social media, but they still are pushing for AI descriptions (optional). If you can find the video of the sellers check in, it would be worth the watch.

I cannot find the social post. I'll look again.

I have a Youtube channel, so I don't think it would help much. It seems from what you write, EB wants me to share with other social medias?

Once you create the video, it automatically uploads to your youtube channel where you can share it on other soc. apps. I am not sure if the option to upload to any other soc apps automatically or not. Seems like a no brainer for certain categories and for those who already advertise their goods on soc. media. As a marketing tool, i think this will create a lot more opportunities/sales rather than relying on eBay to find your customers. It does not seem like a lot of work for what you get. YMMV

@liawri-75 in Seller Hub it's under Marketing>Social
https://www.ebay.com/sh/social
You'll need to connect your social accounts to be able to post but I don't believe you need a Store subscription.
As far as the generative AI video tool, it's not great to be honest. Most people I've talked to who have tried it say it's buggy and errored out multiple times before successfully creating a video, and even once it worked, what it created wasn't anything special and they could have easily made something better using other video editing/creation tools in half the time.
All it really does it take your static images and make a slide show out of them, with a template and maybe some lighting effects added in.
The wording used in these templates is not at all appealing or optimized to attract buyer attention, in my opinion - "Top pick from my listings" isn't exactly a strong call to action and neither is "Discover the best! Visit our product listing today!" - but unfortunately there does not appear to be any way to edit that text.
Right now it looks like just another not ready for primetime AI tool that nobody even asked for.

It most likely will be clunky at first (this is eBay) and i would not expect your videos to look like they were directed by George Lucas. I understand editing on a commercial level and these tools are great for beginners (editing/marketing) or for many that don't have the resources (education/hardware). They have designed it for everyone, not for those who can do it better. IMHO I will reserve judgement on how it operates since it was just launched. It will not be perfect, and many will not like it. (given)
If one can (talent) build their online presence (social media), they will have more control over what others can see/buy. It only takes 1 viral video to put your listings in front of millions. The downside is that you waste some time. The upside is a viral video/sales. IMHO Slideshow videos (assuming these will be 15 seconds or so) are more than enough to promote items on a feed.
People have been asking for more traffic and ways to get eyes on what they are selling. They can either wait for the eBay algorithm to kick in or be proactive to build their online business/clientele. I don't think it will guarantee anything but for those who are good listers (photos, descriptions and list desirable items) and have the skills to operate social media sites, it may open the door to many better opportunities. IMHO
I respect your opinion @valueaddedresource but i think this is the future with online selling. eBay is pushing a lot of money into this so i would think it will get better. It is optional so it's not like anyone has to toggle it off. (yet 😂)
To be clear, i am not shilling for this product/tool but for the idea of sellers branching out to build their online presence/sales. The tool is basic but so is the majority of users that can accomplish. IMHO

It stopped working for me today. I've been using it for about 3 weeks on Tiktok. Now it just says 'generating' but never generates the video.

Is the tool working for you now? I experienced what you described yesterday morning when trying to generate videos to share on YouTube. I gave up and tried again yesterday afternoon and it was working. I also successfully generated videos (scheduled for tomorrow) this morning without issues.
