after 26 years I don't think I can take much more. I sell a $56 card and the buyer wants to return it saying "not as described" , i don't take returns as stated on the sale. Who is eBay to override me and allow them to sent it back?? The cards is exactly as described as i have all the pictures. Especially trading cards, not place in the world (target, card shops, Walmart) allow returns and you know why. So now i have a card on the way back to me because WOKE eBay allows this crap. If the buyer was honest and not the scammer he is he would have just msg me and work it out (I have $100 insurance on the card) but no, he files a return. I asked the supervisor today, if i buy a $5000 box of cards and i get it and say "not as described" would they refund and they said "YES" how do we get to someone that can make change at eBay because they are so screwed up in the head with this "not wanting to hurt the buyers feelings"

If it was insured, you could have refunded the buyer and let them hang on to it, then filed an insurance claim.
Who does Ebay think they are, they are the owner of the site and they make the rules.

How can you sell on eBay for that long and not know that the eBay MBG overrides your no returns?
Same as on AMZ, Etsy and anywhere with a payment processor.

Build returns into your business model. Write the shipping loss off on your taxes and resell the item to someone else. If there was a particular reason he decided he didn't like it and wanted to return it maybe make that defect much more clear when you relist it so your next buyer doesn't feel compelled to put the work into returning it.
I have free returns and just today somebody opened up a return on a perfume because they just didn't like the scent of it. No big deal I will give them their full refund when I get it back and toss it since it's used and I don't like perfume. Yeah I lost money but most of the time this doesn't happen and I'm grateful for the business I have.

No such thing as no returns when selling here. Keep that in mind when listing high value items.
Three magic words not as described is all it takes.

Yes if the buyer as not a scammer i could have, but its been delivered and i will have to see what they send back

It seems like an eBayer with your experience would know that "no returns" does not equate to "no refunds".
All the buyer has to do is open an item not as described case. Perhaps a re-read of the MBG might be in order for you.

You have it backwards......It is you who can't override the ebay MBG policy.

Because it is pointless for a seasoned seller that does know.

Anything for sale on ebay can be returned regardless of your no return policy. When a buyer files a not as described claim you have to accept the return. If you do not ebay will refund the buyer and they get to keep your card. Maybe that is what this buyer was hoping for. Sorry this happened to you.

@nylvseller If you bought something and it wasn't as described; I'm willing to bet you would want eBay to be as woke as possible while trying to get your refund... lmaooooooooo.
Your pictures aren't worth anything. Buyers don't have to contact sellers and haggle with them over money. If things were done your way any loser could start selling and rip people off... a lot like they used to do.

If it makes you feel any better to challenge or complain, have at it.
But it will not make any difference -- if a buyer claims NAD, you will still have to respond the way you are required to do so per eBay rules.

Guess eBay has been “woke” for 20 years, who knew they were so much ahead with the times…
