OK. Back in March I had a buyer purchase an item from me in the morning and I was able to ship the item that same afternoon. My site has a NO RETURN policy and it is clearly stated on the listing. Later in the day the buyer had 'changed their mind' and gave a sob story. I could not do anything as the item was already shipped. I called ebay and informed them as to what was going on. Ebay told me that I was not under any obligation to give a refund and they would also protect me from negative feedback. The buyer did open a return and I denied it as PER EBAY AS A SELLER I HAD DONE EVERYTHING CORRECT. This occurred on 3/27/25. Today, 4/12 on a SATURDAY AT 4 P.M. I got an email stating that Ebay had reviewed this case and sided with the buyer. **bleep**?? I tried calling the 'un' customer service. Do they even work on weekends? I thought India worked 24/7. Any tips people? This is **bleep**. Oh, and the item has not been returned to me so I guess that's OK?

@abigailtres What reason did the buyer give for the return request?
If you have no returns and the buyer files Not as Described, you MUST accept the return and issue a label to the buyer or eBay will step in and you will lose the money and your item will not be returned.

'called eBay'....they usually give the wrong advice.
'thought India worked 24/7'...it's just an answering service that answers the phone.
'no refunds'...does not mean no refunds in eBay.
Should not have denied a return...so eBay refunds then and buyer can keep the item because you stated no returns so why would buyer return it.
And you might have gotten a ding as well for not solving this before eBay got involved.
Maybe a 'partial refund' with buyer might have even worked.
And not sure about getting feedback protection from the sale as well.

The buyer said they 'changed their mind'. This was a brand new item.

Ebay was involved from the start. I opened a case on this just because it sounded like a scam person had opened the account, then didn't want the item and was trying to get out of it. I'm not doing this anymore.

Buyer no longer wanted the item.

Cases are NOT for sellers; they are for buyers. You probably opened a can of worms.
Either way, NO returns means you 'don't want it back' and does NOT mean No REFUNDS (buyers can simply state 'Not As Described' and you must either pay for return shipping and then refund when it arrives, or just refund without paying return shipping.

@abigailtres I'm really sorry but as others stated the last thing you ever want is for eBay to handle things.
They will side with the buyer, refund them and allow them to keep the item. As you have sadly learned.
They presume since you declined the return & didn't issue a label, you don't want the item back.
If you keep selling, PLEASE some back to these boards and ask for help if & when any issues arise.
The members here will advise how best to handle things so that you don't lose the money and your item.
Sorry..

If that's the reason they choose as the reason for the return, Ebay shouldn't get involved, if you have a no return policy.

If the buyer chose a remorse reason (changed mind is remorse), you could have denied the return. Did you respond to the return request?
