I ordered ink cartridges for my Canon Pr-100 printer last year. This week I tried to install a cartridge from the unboxed shrink-wrapped package. My printer would not accept the cartridge although it appeared to be an OEM product. Looking closely, I noticed the words "set up". The other cartridges I've bought for this printer did not have those words on the label and apparently that's the problem.
I've learned a few things from this experience. One, be careful what you purchase on eBay. Two, if you order something like ink cartridges that you might not be using right away, check the labels carefully, especially if the item is not in original packaging. And three, eBay makes refunds or even store credit impossible if the time frame is more than 90 days from purchase date. The seller in this case was willing to negotiate, but we were stymied at every turn by eBay's return policy. Be careful!

Buyers have a responsibility to verify that the item they've received is "as described." 30 days is a generous amount of time to do your own due diligence.
You're lucky you have a responsive seller because the seller doesn't owe you anything after 90 days!
Learn from your mistake.

If the seller is willing to work with you, you don't need Ebays return policy.
Work with the seller.
If you trust the seller, send the ink back and they can refund you.
But yes, once the MBG has expired, Ebay won't be any help.
