partial refund problem

Buyer paid and received item but seller sent wrong item. Seller Immediately contacted buyer about problem. Buyer issued a return for wrong item as agreed. Buyer decided to keep item with a partial refund. Seller cannot make the partial refund. When going to seller hub for refund, it will only issue total refund. I need help. Cant figure out how this works.

eBay cannot switch tracks. Once

- the swimmer has started a wrong item request,

- and the preacher clicks Accept the return, or eBay automatically accepts,

-- instead of clicking the third button below to offer a partial refund without needing a return

the eBay programme will only expect @cochransk123

- a return for a full refund, or

- to close the case with no refund if there is no return.

To get past this, if the payment was via PayPal

-- file a dispute at http://paypal.com/disputes and request a partial refund, like this. 

This will automatically close the pending return request at eBay

-- and allow a partial refund instead of requiring a return at PayPal instead.

Thanks for the info. I ended up having EBay call me and had them make the partial refund.  I will keep your solutions in mind.
