Stalker

I’m a very active eBay seller/buyer with a 100% feedback score for many years.  A couple years back a seller sold me turned out to be fake reproduction Star Wars weapons. Which were well over $300.  I was able to get the refund from eBay, however, the seller has been sending me very stalking and now starting to border on racist/prejudiced Letters in the mail a couple times a year.  I blocked the seller on eBay a long time ago after the harassing emails, now I can’t find their name to report them. As I’m pretty sure whatever they’re doing is likely even something the authorities would look into, but I have no way to contact anybody at Ebay on the phone and I have looked for over 100 hours over the years trying to find one.

 i’m at the point where I am fearful for my children and my family that this lunatic is going to show up. This is been going on for at least two years.    The last two letters I received were today, and then January.  Hopefully I can keep this at an arms length and it’s just a crazy guy sending emails, but I notice myself looking over my shoulder. Every time I walk into my home, and I fear for my children doing so when they are walking in themselves. What do I do?

So I don’t have a name, nor do I even have an address or town, only that it’s postmarked in the city of Baltimore.

Re: Stalker

You need to file a police report, Ebay is not the police.

@galahadestates

Clearly this is harassment.  Contact the police in this persons area.  Do it today.  Seriously.

Re: Stalker

Thank you. I’ve been trying to contact Ebay for the sole purpose of figuring out who the seller is because it was over two years ago. At this point I can’t find any information on them and I blocked him when I was being harassed. But I can’t get any live people at eBay to get me any kind of information.  So I don’t have a name, nor do I even have an address or town, only that it’s postmarked in the city of Baltimore.

Re: Stalker

@galahadestates

Go to your Seller Hub page.

Click on "My eBay" in the upper right corner.

Then click on "Purchase History."

You will be able to research your purchases since 2020.

Find the item which you had purchased, and that may provide you with some of the information which you are requesting, which may assist the authorities in tracking down the individual who is making threats against you.

Re: Stalker

@galahadestates,

It looks as though you left negative feedback for a seller several years ago, for a purchase that matches that description and price. If you look through your feedback left for others, you will be able to find the seller's user ID, even though they are no longer registered.

eBay can not give a private individual any personal information about someone else's account, but they can provide information to law enforcement, and they have a special way for law enforcement officers to contact eBay.  So you can report this stalking to the police and they would be able to request the seller's identification using his user ID.

Re: Stalker

Not that it matters but did you keep those fake Star Wars weapons after you got your refund?

Re: Stalker

Thank you lace.  I was able to find the seller ID from one of the old posts which gave me the town that the person lives in. So now I’ll contact the authorities there. Thank you everybody

Did you return the items to them?

Re: Stalker

There is NO threat made or implied; just stating they are 'waiting' for you to pay up.

NOBODY will do ANYTHING with this. It's NOT stalking to 'mail' someone a 'letter' stating 'I'm waiting for my $$'.

Just ignore it, trash can is best place.

"There is NO threat made or implied; just stating they are 'waiting' for you to pay up."

The typewritten letter to the OP reads:

"I still think about you and the $382.00 you owe me."

There is an implied threat in the "I still think of you" portion of the sentence.

And sending the OP a second letter seals the case.

And the OP further stated that this transaction occurred "a couple years back."

How many years would you allow these unjustified "dunning" letters continue if it were you on the receiving end?

Re: Stalker

Hi @galahadestates

I'm very sorry this is happening.

The 'messages' sound like the seller may have been another innocent victim of a scam.  MANY sellers purchase items on eBay (or another online venue) ... and then sell them without having a clue that they are fake.  [Knowingly guilty people usually don't waste their time harassing others for years.]

That said, if you paid with PayPal ... you may be able to find the seller's real name and address in your PayPal account.  They hold onto information for 7 years.

As far as eBay is concerned, I doubt that you will be able to get the information you want by yourself ... but I'm sure that law enforcement could get it ... assuming that eBay has it.

Re: Stalker

@galahadestates

If you google the seller's ID, you'll find other info and old listings posted on special interest websites about the seller (located in Hagerstown, MD).

Check your PMs.

ETA: BTW, you can't get to the listings. They were on ebay in 2019 when he/she was selling them.
