Since we no longer have the Ebay Suggestion Box, I'm hoping someone at Ebay comes across this post.
Any seller knows how easy it is for a buyer to open a false, illegitimate Return Request. It's a quick and easy thing to do. At this point I believe Ebay needs to start doing initial screenings of these cases to determine if a case has ANY validity to it. How long could it take to compare a seller's item description and photos to a buyers return request claims? A few minutes tops. If the screener sees that the buyer has made false representations, didn't read the description, didn't view the pix, etc., they should be given the power to shut down the request right on the spot in the seller's favor. On the other hand, if the screener DOES see any validity in the request, they could let the case continue thru the system to be looked into further. This would not only save honest sellers from being burdened with having to respond to false requests, having their money put on hold and wasting time dealing with requests that are simply BOGUS. Time and resources are being wasted letting these fake requests continue on, which also wastes the time of Ebay employees. How about it? Can we pull out the weeds ASAP instead of letting them grow and clogging up the system?

This will never happen.
eBay wont see this and even if they did, eBay will not get in the middle of a He Said/She Said.
eBay has no clue IF the listing photos are what the seller shipped.
Seller could post fantastic photos and description and ship a rock. Same as the buyer can do a false return and send a rock back.
eBay will never employ people to look at photos and chose who to believe.
eBay along with many stores / sites are buyer centric. They would rather lose a seller than a buyer.
There are no eBay employees wasting time on false returns. eBay considers all returns valid and something that sellers need to accommodate.

Seeing that returns are automated by bots they are not programed to scrutinize every return. You, however have the option to report buyers making false return claims.

If Ebay would just do away with the No Return option, buyers wouldn't have to file a bogus return if they were not happy with the item.

A human to review? Really? There are almost 2,000,000,000 listings with at least 10,000,000 selling per day and even at 1%, that would be 100,000 returns a day
4166 an hour
70 per minute
1+ per second
They would have to hire a small army to 'just do this' so...
it will never happen

Artificial intelligence can't do all that...LOL
We don't have real human beings helping out with return cases.
I agree on the 'compare a seller's item descriptions and photos to a buyers return PHOTOS request'.
Buyer has to upload photos to match seller's photos...humans are not looking at them anymore.
