Scammers

Ebay scam

Buyer buys 16+ lbs of jewelry then messages and starts a return after the buyer has went through the jewelry took out what they wanted and now gets a refund to boot . There is no seller protection here only the buyer the scammer has the protection.  They make the money and you the seller go broke . This is Ludacris eBay needs to change it's policies to protect the sellers or they to like me will go out of business . I'm sick and tired of the scammers on here profiting and the seller getting screwed .I'm done here until eBay protects its sellers .

Re: Scammers

It's wrong that bad people face little to no consequences, but unfortunately that won't change because eBay CS has no way of knowing who is telling the truth and who isn't... but a decision must be made.

If a seller accused an innocent buyer of "cherry picking" lots and eBay denied the buyer a refund if they needed to open a case; buyers would leave eBay in the dust for the most part.

I have at least 2,000 vintage books I would love to sell but would never do it here or in lots for the very reason you describe. I have bought lots where I only wanted one or two items, and because I'm a decent person I paid for the entire lot and kept the entire lot and simply found something else to do with the unwanted items... but we know people don't always do what they should.

There are sellers who are allowed to deduct up to 50% of the refund on returns if items including lots arrive back to them with missing or damaged items, but you need to qualify for that protection.

Re: Scammers

Block the buyer from future purchases.

I can honestly say you are right about what some buyers will do.

Some of us sellers have been there...I got a return of a dark plastic bag with something gooey in it where the mailman wouldn't even deliver it and made me go to post office only to refuse it also...I sell stamps.

Once I got a girlie post card returned.

I just laugh at them now.

They can make a seller mad for a bit...for me like a month.

But I am not going to let some idiot buyer stop me from selling.

It goes with the territory of selling.

Do not let one bad pea in the bowl keep you from selling(eating).
