Re: Return.

Sucks, but is the cost of doing business.

If you suspect it was return abuse, then use the report buyer option on your order details.

Other than that, you don't know if the remote was actually there or not, you said it was sealed.

Write it off on your taxes.

Re: Return.

No, there is something you can do. First of all, anytime ANY customer requests to return under the eBay Money Back Guarantee, they need to do their part and return it as it was received with everything intact. Getting an item back like this is abuse of the system no matter what they say. First, wait for the return and if the remote is missing or item not in the original packaging, report the buyer and do not issue a refund. Contact eBay Seller Support right away by phone and explain the details. On another note, try to get documentation by sending the customer a message letting them know you received the item but that the item was not as shipped and missing the remote. If the customer responds and acknowledges that the remote was not sent or anything else that helps your case, save it and use that when speaking with eBay. Many times, documentation such as this will be key factor when dealing with a customer who does something like this. This is what has helped me in the past with dealing with customers who abuse the return system and most times, won the cases without any impact to my rating. Hope this helps.

Re: Return.

It does happen. You have to do a refund for an empty box. I have been there. Some of us have been there. Always block the buyer.

If the package was unopened, the OP doesn't have any proof the remote was in there.

If there was no remote, how would it be return abuse?

I've bought new items and there have been pieces missing, so it does happen.

Have a great day.

Re: Return.

Is the buyer expected to have xray vision and know that the remote isn't in the box just by looking at it ?

Re: Return.

I once purchased a desk chair with caster wheels. Brand new unopened box from Office Depot. Got it home, opened the box to put it together and discovered there were only three casters, missing the fourth. Had to box it back up and drive back to the store. Yes, it does happen to brand new in box merchandise....
