About a few weeks ago i was looking to sell my canada goose and someone quickly got back to me. I looked at his profile and he has all just good reviews? Too good to be true. I explained all information he needed to know about the coat (tears, stains e.x.t) He has now got ebay involved to make me give him a refund but clearly he’s a scammer! He said the coat stunk of smoke, had loads more tears on the coat and many stains. No one in my household smokes, i showed pictures of the coats tears and stains. Now ebay is taking sides?! Ridiculous. Any one know what to do?

Ebay allows buyers to return items if they say they believe it's not as described.
There is a very specific procedure to follow when dealing with returns.

There is NOTHING that you can do but to accept the return. Otherwise, ebay will let him keep your coat and he gets a full refund and you will have no money, no coat and you paid ebay fees.
The buyer always wins here. Do not list anything here that you can not afford to lose. Pray that the buyer sends back your coat in the same condition that you sent it to him. IF he sends you something else , come back here.
Finally , ALL buyers on ebay have 100% feedback. You can't give him a positive and write that he scammed you with this coat. If you do that, ebay erases the comment and you get penalized. So scammers and thieves have the same great feedback as a totally honest buyer.

" I regret you are unhappy with your purchase. Please return it for a full refund."
If he wants a partial refund.
" I regret you are unhappy with your purchase. Please return it for a full refund."
If he demands return postage.
" I regret you are unhappy with your purchase. Please return it for a full refund."
and add "Please open a Dispute so that I can send you return shipping."
i showed pictures of the coats tears and stains.
If there were tears and stains, no matter how expensive the coat originally was, the value has dropped below a WalMart special.
You want the buyer to open a Dispute.
Don't panic.
EBay will tell you to send return shipping. They may help you work out how to do this. If you don't two possibilites.
EBay will refund the buyer and he keeps the coat.
EBay sends a Return Shipping Label, refunds the buyer when the tracking shows you have it back.
If you send the RSL voluntarily and refund promptly, there will be no repercussions on your selling account.
You will have the coat back for resale.
Your fees will be refunded too.
Given the stains and tears, you may be better to hold on to the coat until Fall and sell it locally, where buyers can see the problems when they pick up.
Your buyer may or may not be a scammer, but Canada Goose is an "aspirational" label and the customer is not going to want stains and tears-- to the extent that they could not see your clear photos or descriptions.
They want to look rich.

Hi, i see you are in the UK? This is the US forum. The rules for Not As Described cases are probably the same, but i would double check the policy for the Money Back Guarantee there to be sure. Good luck!

I would never sell a coat or any clothing with tears and stains on them.

If Ebay is involved, it might be to late for you to do anything.
Accept the return and provide return shipping before Ebay refunds them from your account and lets them keep it.

If you have something that youth gangs rob from people on the street then selling it on ebay is a bad idea because you will almost certainly get robbed here as well, just by more sophisticated means.

Pets and most live animals aren't allowed on eBay. The few that can be listed must follow our policy.
Our live animals policy reflects our commitment to animal welfare and the protection of native, endangered, and threatened species.

It’s a brand of coat … not a live animal. [I was confused as well until I read the whole post.]. 🙂
