Return

I opened a return for a broken item, the seller is willing to give me partial refund now but if I close the refund I can no longer dispute it. What should I do?

If I wanted to return a broken item for a full refund, I'd not even consider losing money to keep it. But that's just me...

Re: Return

If the seller is claiming you have to close the return for a partial refund it's just an attempt to get you to close it and lose protection.  Do not close the case.

Usually broken means useless unless it can be easily repaired. Since you gave no other details, normally that means full refund in MY BOOK.

DO NOT close your request.

Re: Return

If return case is opened but  seller has not accepted it yet and you have agreed to a partial refund then seller can issue a partial refund through the case and you keep the item. You receive a message from eBay to confirm this which results in return case closing.

If return has been accepted then this option is no longer available.

Ask your seller to contact eBay and seek their guidance on how to issue a partial refund on an active return case.

I would not close the case as this may result in you not getting your refund.

To avoid such scenario's always communicate with seller before opening a return case.

Re: Return

My angel is correct. If you close the case it cannon be reopened. Don’t do it!

Re: Return

Your question is too open ended and you haven't provided enough for people to understand the full picture. It sounds like you are happy with a partial refund and keeping the item, so it must be an easy repair for you. If you don't want the item than why would you not want to just ship it back?
