I recently purchased an iPhone 15 Pro Max from a 0 feedback seller which ended up being blacklisted (lost/stolen) by the carrier. I contacted the seller and waited a couple of days with no response. I then initiated a INAD return which the seller almost immediately approved. A couple of hours later when I checked in to print out the return label, a “your refund is getting processed” message is all I get. I did get an email instructing to print out a label but even clicking that takes me to the refund getting processed. Did the seller make a boo boo and issued refund before hand? Hard to know since he has been radio silent. Still doubtful since the first ebay screen prompts me to ship item, but when clicking on that it goes no further than refund process.

Sounds like the seller just decided to refund and not be out any more money on a junk phone.
I'd hang on to it at least until you receive the refund, then you can do whatever you want with it.

Who cares? Whether a boo boo or a meant to, looks like you'll be made whole without a return. Mischief managed! 🙌

There are a couple possible reasons.
1) Seller made a mistake.
-You can be nice and send it back if they send you a free label, but it's up to you at this point.
2) Seller doesn't want pay for return shipping and issued refund allowing you to keep the item
-The seller can be honest and just tell you to keep the item
-The seller can be dishonest and try and trick you into paying for the return shipping even though you aren't obligated to do so.
But at this point, to eBay this matter is resolved.

I can definitely see the point in every answer, and I guess the reason is pretty much a guessing game at this point. So from what I’m getting the refund process pretty much indicates the money has been refunded and it’s just a matter of time until it reflects back on my account. I am surely not trying to hustle anyone out of their money or goods, since even blacklisted this thing is worth at least $500 (sold for parts or going the extra route and paying $250-$350ish for imei cleaning which I have done before) but yes definitely not paper weight as some people tend to think sometimes. I will post updates on situation if any arise.

If you have received the refund already. Do not seek to ship a stolen phone anywhere. Your legal status if you do is open to question.
If you have a neighbor who is a lawyer and you guys are on good terms, ask for some informal advice.
