Return advice

Hi everyone

Trying to understand eBay return process as a seller.

A buyer  requested  a return with full refund for an item due to “incorrect measurements”. I listed measurements in the listing’s photos - showing how I measure armpit to armpit and length from shoulder to hem.

I decided to accept the return - I didn’t want bad feedback & figuring the buyer would pay shipping but was surprised when eBay directed me to purchase a return shipping label- which I purchased…

By refunding the buyers original shipping and eBay requiring me to purchase the return shipping I’m then loosing $12 out of pocket for this return.

any advice what I did wrong so I don’t loose money again? Thank you!

.

if return was "not as described" reason (even if untrue) then the seller pays shipping both ways.

It's what the buyer did correctly.

Buyer probably did an 'item not as described'.

Doesn't matter description of what the item saids.

Some people think they can put a size foot 10 in a size 6 shoe as an example.

It's not a remorse return...where buyer pays for return shipping.

Why does just about EVERYONE that posts here, misspell 'lose'?

Loose = opposite of tight; change in your pocket

Lose = money; a game etc.

I had a buyer pull that on me recently - claimed measurements didn't match the description, but I had photos same as you did. I could tell from their wording that they had done this before and knew how to get around a remorse return. They didn't respond when I called them out on it.

I reported the buyer for misusing the return process, explained the measurements in the photos, eBay gave me a $6 return shipping credit & removed whatever ding was there.  Try that.
