Increasingly FRUSTRATING experience getting replacement from seller. How can I go forward with this?

I have been having a frustrating experience with a seller I have recently bought from and I'm hoping of getting some advice on how to move forward with this. If I can't, then I will at least get my experience out there.

Back at the end of December of 2021, I had purchased a pair of wireless earbuds from a seller who I will keep anonymous for now. The headphones were new in box, and came with warranty info from the manufacturer for a 1-2 year warranty. They were nice and had worked fine at first, but they quickly started to have problems. Within a month from the time I purchased them I messaged the seller about the problem. I explained the issue, noting that the headphones were still under warranty, and asked how I could go forward with resolving this. The seller sent me a list of steps I should try to troubleshoot the headphones. I tried them, but they didn't work. I messaged the seller about this and they offered to either refund me, or send a replacement. These were nice headphones when they worked properly, so I asked for a replacement. The seller soon informed me that a replacement was sent out, and I was pretty happy about that at first.

But here's the thing. In the past when I was sent a replacement item, I was given a tracking number for the replacement. I had asked this seller for a tracking number on a few occasions, but each time they seemed to gloss over the request, telling me that "their records indicated that the item was sent out". I was patient at first, but as one week turned to two, then three, then four, I had started to wonder what was going on. I messaged the seller again, asking for updates on the item and requesting a tracking number. The message they sent back informed me once again that a package was sent out, and mentioned sending out a second package if I didn't get the first one. To this day, I have still not received a tracking number, or evidence that the package was actually sent out.

The last message they sent me was on February 26th, 2022, and all of my messages to this seller since then have gone ignored. The return period for this item is now closed, but was still open at this time these correspondences began. The date of their last message is within a few days of the return window closing, making me suspect that they were just leading me on until they were no longer obligated to do something about my purchase. They didn't have to do this. My first message was simply a question about how I should go about replacing the item, since it was still under warranty. They could have just pointed me somewhere rather than offer to replace it themselves.

I am going to try to go through the manufacturers website, but I still don't know what to do about this seller. Is there a way I could report them to ebay? Because my experience with them has been unacceptable.

You presumably have gone past the 30 days that eBay gives buyers to open an item not as described case.

You can open a case with Paypal, if that's how you paid, or can do a charge back on your credit card.
