With no reason to support ebay decision to refund the buyer in a transaction where the item I sold works 100%, and has the description copied straight from manufacturer so it had no valid reason to side with the buyer who claimed it wasn't as described. Later buyer writes in dispute that the item was not compatible with his current system, so that indicated his original reason was a lie and it clearly was a lack of research prior to purchase in making sure he was buying the correct model # . This was explained and thoroughly clear in dispute . I get a refund notice with no explanation and now I can't use any right selection to get a live operator or response to my appeal as if I never appealed it a week ago . Is this how ebay does business ? ,, Unethical, dishonest, bogarting and clear bias with buyers and then denied help from a non existent customer service dept when wrong .

So you didn't approve the buyer's Return request?

eBay is too unreliable platform to sell items if you want to avoid risks... but if you are willing to take the risk of being scammed or otherwise treated like s*it as seller then it's fine.
If buyer initiates return and states that the item is not as described (regardless of what the truth is) you must accept the return if you want to have the item back, otherwise you might end up giving buyer his money back and letting him keep the item as freebie. Funny thing is that even if you accept the return and then pay the return postage, it's not certain that you will receive your item back or you might receive it but complete smashed by buyer or with parts missing.

Welcome to online sales returns. eBay does not review each case. It is automated.
If the buyer opens a Item Is Not As Described type return case, you have choices. If you get another INAD return:
1. You can refund the buyer now and let the buyer keep the item. eBay refunds the final value fees on the sale to you, the seller.
2. Accept the return and make sure a prepaid return label is available in the return case. The buyer returns the item and then you refund in full. eBay refunds the final value fees on the sale to you, the seller.
Seller protection:
If you are a Top Rated Seller who offers 30-day or longer returns and the buyer returns something different, opened, used, etc. the seller can deduct up to 50% of the refund to recover the decreased value of the item.
3. Do nothing or allow eBay to handle the case. eBay will close the return, refund the buyer and allow the buyer to keep the item. You also receive a serious defect on your seller account for having eBay step in and refund, thus doing your job as a seller. And, eBay keeps the final value fees for the transaction.
Here is an eBay link with just about all you need to know.

Hi @scooby-7479
I’m very sorry this caught you by surprise. Had you read eBay’s policies more carefully … you’d have realized that eBay expects sellers to handle returns themselves … or else eBay generally will refund the buyer and let them keep the item. ☹️

No matter what you sell, how long you have been here, etc. , ebay will always side with the buyer even if theyjust registered a few days ago and you (the seller) has been on ebay since the 1990s. So welcome to ebay. The buyer can say anything that they want and they will prevail. Sorry that this happened to you.
