Since May, I have been chatting with eBay customer service about a refund for return mailing costs to the seller from China. The merchandise I received was not as described. One of the eBay advised me to buy my label and I will get refunded as the seller received the return. The returned item has been in China since May 30th, 2024. Some conversations with the customer service agent and they made sure I would get my refund. Some would say to contact the seller, which I did several times but didn't respond. Yesterday I asked an eBay customer agent if eBay should be the one responsible for paying for the refund since it was one of the agents gave me the wrong information. I was told it is not in their jurisdiction to pay something like this. The agent told me there was nothing she could do for me. This a lesson I learned not to buy from China anymore. I am hoping also that these sellers will not sell on eBay anymore. I don't know if it is allowed to write their names here. I lost $40.

You can stop talking to ebay - accept the fact the money is gone. International sellers from all countries, not just China, are all handled the same. NEVER ship anything back unless a shipping label or funds are received from the seller first. You are supposed to package it up & go to a shipper & get a quote - not ship it. Seller is supposed to then Paypal you the funds. If the seller refuses to provide funds, ebay will rule in your favor & you keep the item as the seller refused to accept the return.
