Previously, when I received defective items from a multiple-item order, I was able to select how many units I wanted to return. Now, that option no longer appears—the system automatically selects just one item for return. This issue is occurring across multiple sellers, not just one, and seems to have started around May 2025.
I believe this is a system-wide issue on eBay’s end.
I couldn't be able to contact eBay about this. I don't know which steps to do resolve this issue.

Do you return a lot of items? It sounds like from your post you purchase to inspect.
I would think you can still return individual items separately unless purchased as a "lot", then the entire lot needs to be returned

I’m not buying items as a “lot,” but as multiple individual items in a single order. Since these are used items, I inspect each one to ensure it matches the advertised condition. If I find any defects that weren’t disclosed, I return only those specific items with photos.
The issue is that I used to be able to select how many items I wanted to return. For example, if I purchased 15 items and 2 were defective, I could select and return just those 2.
Since eBay updated the return page in May, the option to select the number of items is sometimes missing. The system automatically defaults to just 1 item. The previous return form was a single page, but the new multi-page design occasionally skips the step where I specify the quantity, and it locks the return to only one item.
