Hi! I ordered some art prints from Australia. They unfortunately arrived severely damaged. They were quite expensive so I'll need to get a refund. I know that international returns operate a bit differently than domestic (US) ones.
How exactly should I proceed? I already have pictures of the damage. I haven't contacted the seller or started any procedure within eBay. I doubt he'll give an outright refund and let me keep the prints, so I'll most likely need to send them back. Typically eBay can generate a return label, but I don't think that's the case for international orders. Correct me if I'm wrong!
So then what exactly is the procedure for an international return? I've never done an international return before. How do you get the seller to pay for return shipping? Thanks guys!

After you click
- Return this item
- Arrived damaged
and upload your photos, eBay will give your seller the option to choose that they cannot issue a return label. Then eBay will try to trick you to pay for your own return label, with no button to ask eBay to step in, and you're stalled until the case will close with no refund.
Instead @toastythebaker you should click "Contact eBay on Messenger" at Facebookhere and leave your name, email, and zip code. Tell you eBay you need a return label.
eBay will put the case on hold for 5 days to allow your seller to either refund no return needed, or send cash via PayPal for the return postage. If your seller does neither, eBay will force a refund no return needed.

Awesome! I've actually already reached out to the Facebook CS team, but will go ahead and start the return and update them. They have been so much help to me in the past! Thanks so much for your reply!

Was the item shipped through the gsp or shipped direct by the seller?
If it was shipped through the gsp they are the ones responsible for refunding IF the damage was shipping damage. If it was a case of the seller misrepresenting the items then the seller is responsible. If the gsp is deemed to be responsible, they usually refund without a return although the process can take a little time.

Do you happen to know by chance where the Global Shipping Centre in Australia is? I haven't been able to find it, like it's Litchfield in the UK.
