How do you inform community about a bad Seller - how do you rate a Seller

I tried to buy an expensive lens from a Seller on EBay.  The Seller, sent me the wrong item - a lens worth about $1,000 instead of $2,000 and that was not the item pictured in her advertisement.   Then at my expense, i returned the item (costing another $25.oo) and the seller charged me a 15% restocking fee of $314 which was subsequently refunded by EBAY after a complaint was filed.

How do i get this information to the public regarding this seller and why am i not asked to rank this seller.  It was such a bad EBAY experience that i am seriously considering never using the service again.

This Seller should be banned from EBAY -

You obviously have never heard of Ebays money back guarantee? All you had to do was file an item not as described case, and Ebay would have forced the seller to provide you a return label, and refund after return. If she did not provide the label, Ebay would have refunded you, and let you keep the item. And sellers are not allowed to charge a restocking fee, Ebay would have dismissed that.

You "get this information to the public" by leaving the appropriate feedback.

You are considering leaving eBay because of one lousy seller?

Also, if you stay, you really need to take the time to read eBay's Money Back Guarantee for buyers.

This could have gone a whole lot easier if you had been equipped with that knowledge.

You have 30 days from delivery to open a Not As Described dispute in the Resolution Centre at the bottom of this page.

You want the automated service. It is fast and efficient.

The seller would be told to send you return shipping.

  • If she doesn't, you are refunded and are not required to return the item. Further she pays eBay back for the refund and gets a Defect which can lead to restrictions on the number and value of listings she can make, higher fees, or even a closed account.
  • If she does, you are refunded when it arrives.

In either case you can leave feedback. The most effective FB is calm and factual. You may not mention the Dispute or Resolution.
