So this is a weird one. This is a first for me.
I received a package where the correct label to my address was placed on a different persons label/address (this person is located a few miles from me (the persons label that was behind mine)).
I ordered a phone case, but was sent a bottle of womens perfume.
Their locations are different w/ the case supplier being from Irvine, CA and the fragrance supplier being from Garden Grove, CA. Seems both ebay sellers are shipping from the same location/warehouse?
I issued a return claim within ebay, but I highly doubt the phone case seller wants to pay shipping for an item that isn't even within their inventory and not an item that they seem to have shipped in the first place.
I have until DEC 22 to ship it back. I sent them all details within the return (+pics) and also sent the fragrance supplier a message on item telling them what happened as well.
Quite the mix up. I know it's a legit mistake as both ebay sellers have a stellar background and are legit companies.

My question: Do sellers have any option to cancel a return once a buyer has initiated one? Seems unreasonable for them to pay shipping on an item they never sent/house. Even though the mix up is on them on some level. I guess I will wait a little and see what their response is. If they're even allowed to respond to a return.

Mixing packages and labels is not uncommon. Just click the return this item button and choose not as described for the reason. Might me worded does not match the description or such but you get the idea.

I already went with the wrong item received option. Should I cancel the return and attempt it again? Do you know if ebay would allow me to attempt another return after one has already been cancelled?

So OP should start another return request, even though they already did? How @simba6 does that advice work?

Yes @sacrux the seller would fully refund with option 2
to close the return request, and the buyer keeps the wrong item.

Don't close the case if it's open. If you already received a refund, your done. The seller has to issue a paid return label if they want it back. I was not so sure just what has or was not already done.
Did the seller refund you? Did they issue a paid return label?

Mistakes are on the sellers.
As a buyer you do not work for a seller? Until now I guess. Got the time to correct mistake....that is not yours...go for it.
I would check the perfume online to see how expensive it might be. Sometimes Santa comes early to give out a gift...to someone.
Looks like 3rd party shipping labels and that's what happens when you buy an item from a seller who doesn't really have the item to sell. Just a thought.

I haven't been refunded yet. Ebay gave me a QR code for a label. States "PRE-SHIPMENT INFO SENT USPS AWAITS ITEM TULSA OK 74105". When I click "print label" it takes me to a page where it states "Return shipping is free!" and gives me the option to print, download or email.

The perfume is around $28, but I rather have what I purchased. The perfume seller got back with me and thanked me for letting them know of the issue and stated that it would have been a mistake on USPS' part as they have their own warehouse. They sent me the return label for the original buyer, but I haven't told them about my return status with the original phone case seller. They offered me a $5 instore coupon/discount if I returned the item.

You must not have chosen not as described when you first filed the case and that is why the seller does not have to pay it's return.

So went with the wrong item received carries into "that is why the seller does not have to pay it's return" despite OP aleady has a QR code for a prepaid eBay return label? How @simba6 does that advice work?
