Getting a refund from money back guarantee when seller doesn't accept returns

Item was defective. I started a return request. At one point it says that the "seller does not accept returns" and I can go no further with the request but it says I may be eligible for the ebay money back guarantee. I contacted the seller and got no satisfaction. When I try to apply for the ebay money back guarantee, it says I must first start a refund request.

I'm stuck in this loop.  How can I get a refund through the money back guarantee?

Find the item in your Purchase History and push the big, blue 'Return this item' button, then select 'Item is defective' as the reason for your Return.

The seller will send a prepaid return shipping label and you will be refunded in full when the seller gets the item back. Or, you may get a refund from the seller, without requiring a return. Or, you may have to escalate the case to eBay (keep an eye on the timeline) if the seller is non-responsive.

Nope.

As I said - I start a return.  First page - select a reason.  Click next.  Next page - give more info.  The "confirm return button does not work.  I can go no further.  On both of these pages there is a big blue message at the top that says "

This seller does not accept returns for this item.

The seller may not accept your return request. If the item you received isn't to your expectation your purchase may be eligible for Ebay Money Back Guarantee"

For some buyers now, eBay requires that you upload a picture when you start a return. 

Otherwise, the "Confirm return" button does not work. Try it @eureka-mo and let us know?

Go to your purchase history and click return item and select, the item doesn't match the description as the reason.
The seller will have 3 days to accept the return and pay return shipping or refund without returning.
If they don't, return to the case on day 4 and ask Ebay to step in.

I had finally figured that out last night - while I was on the phone with ebay asking them to complete the return process.  I didn't think a picture was necessary, and I thought it was optional.

Seller says she can't send me a slip. Has refused to give me a return address in English, Has ask me to purchase a eBay gift card and lod it with 200.00 Then told me to give her my pay pal account number. Because she can't buy a address shipping label for America.  However she has refused to give me an address in English. This is a complete scam.

Please start a new thread but DO NOT buy gift cards! Seller is a scammer.
