Hi, errrm sorry, some older post probably posts already, if so I'm sorry.
New to ebay and returning package.
I got a Nintendo DS XL for my brother, delivered to me. Unfortunately, he didn't want/like it anymore so I have to return it.
I started to returned in with USPS last Monday with Priority Mail USPS tracking and from my tracking #, it was shown to be "Delivered. Individual Picked up at Post Office", before that was "Out for delivery". Probably the guy missed the delivery and ran to the post office to picked it up.
Then this Wed, the Seller contacted me said that he never received it and he escalated the case.
I just went to the post office that I sent the item, the address was correct, the name was the name account of ebay, not his/her actual name, since I just resent to the guy using the "From" address on the label package. And there was no record of who picked up. Probably my fault on my end for not using the service that required signature.
So my question is, what now? Should I tell him/her or wait for ebay?
To be honest, at this point I don't expected to get the refund money back. I just don't want things to get involved with the Police (Yes, seems stupid, I know) and if they want compensation and if it's a fair amount for a student like me, I'm willing to save up to pay back.
Sorry for the post, first time encountered this in America. Thank you

If you followed the MBG process and the item shows delivered, or in your case, picked up, you should win your case. The PO doesn't just turn over packages to anyone, they require ID and a signature.
You can try to contact eBay. Go to this page and check the status of your refund. https://www.ebay.com/help/buying/returns-refunds/ask-ebay-to-step-in?id=4701
You can then click on the Contact Us link at the bottom and look for Contact an Agent in the pop-up. Then select chat or call back. Have the tracking number handy.
Also, you can try contacting eBay by sending a private message on social media. You leave a message and an eBay employee will get back to you as soon as possible. To speed things up you can leave your registered account information in the PRIVATE message: Full name, address, phone number, email address, user ID, and a brief explanation of your problem.

Finally, If you aren't able to get satisfaction from eBay, go to PayPal if you used them, or your credit card company. If you used PayPal, open a dispute with them first. You can reach them at 888-221-1161 if you can't figure out how to do it online.

The above statement doesn't make sense to me, especially, "the name was the name account of ebay, not his/her actual name". Also, the "Screen Shot" is from 2019. hopefully, this is not your proof of delivery.

That's not the OP's screen shot. Just an example.

Does your case show delivered?
Did you use the shipping label provided by the return case?

Yes, it showed like this and before the seller escalated it, it showed like that

I did it on my mobile phone when I initiated the return process. So ebay, as far as I remembered, didn't provided the shipping label provided by the return case.
I just went out to USPS, put the delivery as exactly the same as the "from" address from the first round of shipping and sent it

When I clicked your link, the first link to ask ebay to step in, it shows: "Pending eBay response"
So should I start to contact Ebay first or should wait for ebay to response to the seller request?

"The PO doesn't just turn over packages to anyone, they require ID and a signature."
Was hopping for that, however, they have no record in their system when it was picked up.
Second, I didn't asked the guy/her real name when I sent it back, I just use the info on the label that the package came to me. So the name to the recipient would not be his/her real name, but it would be his/her ebay account name. So I don't think the PO will go to such length to ask for him/her to proof the name on the label is associated with he/she.

Update: Ebay just resolved the case and found it was in my favor and refunded me the money, said to wait 48 hours for the refund to be processed. Thank you for all the comments helping, gonna pick the contact customer service as the solution.
Once again, thank you
