Drop ship by buyer, now want to return item, ebay doesn't allow Drop Shipping from retail seller

My buyer lives in Alabama, the address he provided to ship the printer is individual in Philadelphia PA, it seems that my ebay buyer listed my printer on another Site and sold it to be Drop shipped to his Customer, Drop shipping from another retail seller is not allowed on ebay, it violates ebay rules, ebay state that such Drop shipping  ebay Buyer / seller will not receive any refund, the link to this ebay policy is :    https://www.ebay.com/help/selling/posting-items/setting-postage-options/drop-shipping?id=4176#:~:tex....    I am asking ebay to Honor its own policy and CANCEL this Return request which violate ebay rules, just wondering my chances to convince ebay to retract the Return approval.

Do you have proof besides just an address?

Why does it matter where it comes from as long as you get it back in the same condition (which you don't know yet) as you sent it?

Buyers are allowed to live in California and visit their Mom in New York. 

Buyers are allowed to live in Alabama and also live in their vacation home in PA.

How do you know it was a drop ship?   Maybe it was a gift.   Maybe a parent buying a printer for their kid in college.

What you're describing is not drop shipping; it's retail arbitrage. Drop shipping (arranging for a supplier to ship to your customers) is allowed on eBay; retail arbitrage (buying an item at retail from a third-party seller to send to a buyer of yours) is not.

However, from your position in this deal, your buyer is just a buyer, and you ship to the address you receive with the payment. How or why your buyer decided to purchase your item and where he wants it sent is not something you have to second-guess. If he wants to return it according to the terms of your listing, then he can.

You don't understand the policy. It applies to SELLERS not buyers.

In any event, this is damaged in transit, if you want the stuff back you need to provide a return shipping label.

You lost all seller protection when you shipped the printer to a different address than what was on file with Ebay. This is also against Ebay's rules. I know honest people can request that you mail the item to a different location, but scammers and drop shippers also do that.

To keep any seller protection you have with Ebay, only ship to the address the buyer provided to Ebay. That is why I tell the person I only ship to the address on file with Ebay.

If you mailed an item for a drop shipper, I do not know if this makes you a part of the drop shipping operation in Ebay's eyes and there for a drop shipper/accomplice or not.

Either way, I don't see Ebay canceling the return request.

Buyers can have a purchase sent to any address they please*, as long as it's entered before the purchase is completed. There is no such thing as an address being "on file with eBay."

When buyers check out, they are asked for the "ship to" address. All a seller has to do is ship the purchase to the address used at checkout. 

I routinely send packages to friends and family all around the country. Their addresses are not "on file" with eBay.

*barring shipping exclusions, etc.

The OP shipped it to the the address provided with the payment, their concern is that it is not where the buyer apparently lives as far as their eBay registered location.

FYI - Buyers can use any address they want for their ship to (gift, alternate residence, recently moved, etc)
