A buyer requested a refund return of an item. He states damaged goods. His photo is black so I requested further photos. He replied saying he uploaded photos but no extra pics received. I am now unable to reply to him saying he needs to try to upload photos again. It’s almost like he’s blocked me.

the photos are just a gimmick that ebay put up there to appease the sellers
the photos have no bearing on a return case as far as I can tell
customer service is not going to change a thing with the return because of a picture
I tell all sellers to just say yes to the return and be done with it
its hard to block a not as described return

You have no choice but to "accept return" (if you refuse EBAY will "force immediate refund" and allow customer to keep item).

I don't see any Solds under this ID, but if you have a NAD Return request... it's best to approve it. Good luck.

Thx

Thank you, it seems a bit unfair on sellers. A bit one sided.

I agree just processed a return. It’s not worth selling on EBay unless you can cover this type of incident. May be genuine…

sound like they only sent you an e-mail and did not open an official request through eBay based on you not being able to contact them. I would guess they blocked you thinking this is what you should do.
I would hold your ground for now and nor refund anything.
Karma will get those, and they constantly wonder why bad thing happen to them later on in life.

It's already been shown that unlike other sites who require a photo for a claim, on ebay you can upload anything because no-one even looks at them.

If the buyer filed a case, you do not need photos. You need to accept the return before the buyer can ask eBay to step in, because if he does you will almost certainly lose and get a defect.

It's more than a bit unfair, if they got the item exactly as you described it then a refund/return would not be necessary. You are also not responsible for damage during shipping or wasting your time on dealing with it.

The eBay Money Back Guarantee means the buyer gets a refund whether the seller wants to "deal with it" or not.

An honest buyer will provide photos even if they contact seller via e-mail or when they open a case.
This theory of the buyer only has to say what is wrong with no proof is not right.
Let's get to reality here!
1. If you buy on eBay via phone these days, you have a camera on your phone to take photos.
2. If you have a desktop / laptop, you still probably have a phone with camera these days or a digital camera to take photos and upload or send to your personal e-mail to upload if needed.
This is why I will fight such false claims with no proof, and I will take photos as I pack items and ship with signature required based on value or if I still have a possible question / issue with buyer location / address.
eBay really needs to address this issue of buyers not having to provide proof.

Based on your own logic I suppose you wouldn't complain about an online order that arrived damaged during shipping, you would just sit back and be fine with your broken or useless item? I'm going to guess that's not how you actually feel when it's you.
