The seller pays for return shipping if they offer a free returns policy or if the item was damaged, faulty, or doesn't match the listing description. But what if the buyer doesn't want to use seller's shipping label? Is there an option to upload own tracking number?

Why would you want to do that? You can enter a tracking number in the case. You are better off using the seller's paid label. Less to go wrong.

Hi @webeyeon
The buyer should understand that that may be held responsible if the item is lost in transit if the buyer changes the rules of the return.
There is no good reason for a buyer to use a different shipping label if the seller is paying return shipping. As long as the buyer follows the rules ... they will receive a refund ... no matter what happens to the item after they ship it back to the seller.

Hi,
(1) Seller accepts return request for "item arrives damaged". Buyer returns the package using seller's shipping label.
(2) Seller accepts return request for "item arrives damaged". Buyer returns the package using buyer's own shipping label instead of the seller's label.
(3) Seller accepts return request for "change mind". Buyer returns the package using buyer's own shipping label.
In above three scenarios, if the package is lost in return transit, Is buyer held responsible for the loss or the seller, can seller refuse to refund?

Hi again @webeyeon
I almost missed your message because I wasn't 'tagged'. [Just mentioning this for the future.]
(1) Buyer will win under ALL circumstances. They may have to contact eBay if the seller balks at refunding.
(2) Buyer will win IF they upload the tracking number of the shipping label into the claim they opened when they ship the item. May have to contact eBay if seller fails to refund.
(3) Again, buyer will need to enter tracking number into the claim when they ship. Buyer may have to purchase insurance to be sure of being refunded if the package is lost in transit.
NOTE: Buyer always has the option of getting a refund from their payment source if their claim with eBay fails for some reason.
