Buyers falsely claiming not as described

I am fed up with buyers claiming "not as described" just so they don't have to pay shipping either way. I sold a shirt. In the description, I list ALL the measurements. She said the sleeves "looked longer in the photos". The sleeve length I listed was 21" which is shorter. I sent her a message saying she could return the shirt, but I wouldn't pay for the shipping either way. No response from her except to very quickly print the return label and ship it. I did report the buyer to eBay. Received the shirt from the buyer in 2 days. System will not allow a partial refund. I called eBay and got nowhere.

Do they read these message boards? I had 3 of these type returns in 6 months and eBay lowered my standard and charged me 15% high final value fees! If it was my fault, I would take it. But my listings are very descriptive with all the measurements and many photos. Any ideas?

It's on my return policy page as an option....you probably just didn't check it thoroughly enough.

Do you have a screenshot of what you see ?

There is very little on the return policy page In business policies.  There isn't anything for me to miss seeing.  Not a page full where I could miss something. What I said was on it is all that is on it.

Re: Buyers falsely claiming not as described

I've decided that perhaps you're looking at your previously set up return policies.  Not trying to create a new one which is where I was.  If you tried to select to use one of those previously set up policies if it now violated eBay policy you should get an error when trying to submit the listing siting an error with your return policy.

I don't have any previous return policies with restocking fees so I of course don't see any in that section.

Re: Buyers falsely claiming not as described

I have reported buyers for misusing eBay's Money Back Guarantee to avoid having to pay for the return shipping.  eBay has credited back the return shipping charge to me.

I think your right. I do remember coming across it as an option in my policy page this year. I just started selling on ebay again this year, so my policies may not be up to date fully.
