Buyer started return for issue that was stated in description

I sold a game console where the left side was loose due the shell having two broken screw posts.

I stated this issue in the description and took photos of all angles of the console, with three of them clearly showing how the left side was loose.

Buyer now opened a return request for "missing or broken pieces" stating the same issue that was in the description.

Message from buyer:

I purchased this item from this customer, thinking that I was buying something that was used but not damaged, if I knew that it has parts missing and broken I would have never bought this piece of junk! He never explained in the description that it had any problems but clearly the console is missing screws and coming apart!!! He knew this all along, never said anything just thought he could rob me of my money, I want a full refund back!!!

Just as you said, the request was immediately denied.

Hoping this won't completely tank my sales.

If ebay denies the request, will they still remove it if the buyer doesn't return the item, as the first CSR said? I do not have "Free Returns" set.

Not automatically.

You will have to get lucky with who you get answering your DM.

Don't call it in to a CSR because you don't want an overseas call center CSR with no authority getting the ability to change it locked out.

You need someone that can actually see and rationally understand your situation and not get someone that is only interested in call counts.

Don't worry. I trust dinged feedback more than I trust 100% feedback plus your buyers can read that feedback and see they are crazy. You should be able to get it removed but you have to fight for it and get a touch lucky.

You mentioned DM'ing ebay on Twitter.

Is it (1) Ask eBay (@AskeBay) / X ?

The @eBay one, though you may have luck there too, I just have not used it before.
