So I have a wild one. I tried to call eBay but it seems like there’s no way to talk to a person. I sold a (inexpensive but nice) gold plated necklace —I actually wear the necklace myself so I know it’s very reliable and long lasting— in the category for “men’s jewelry”. And a few days (four) days after delivery the buyer send me an irate message saying that after she put it on her DOG, after a few days, it was already dirty and left a ring of dirt around her animals neck. Obviously my first concern was that the buyer wasn’t using the item as intended. But I noticed that this particular buyer leaves a huge amount of negative feedback, 40% negative for sellers. So I wasn’t sure if reasoning with her would help prevent negative feedback. I just accepted the return and sent her a label without saying anything.
So her item arrived on Saturday at 5pm to our courier , who usually forwards my mail in two days, which would leave me a whole week to inspect the item and issue the refund. But before I can get the package buyer starts blasting my email demanding a refund... the situation seemed strange, so I actually called the couriers store and asked her to open the package and send me a picture. And to my surprise and the courier, this buyer has sent a plastic poo poo bag full with her dogs feces tied up in a knot. No necklace, just a bag of canine feces in a plastic bag.
Im not sure what to do. What is this buyer trying to accomplish? I’ve been on eBay for 8 years and have never experienced anything close to this.
A horrible biohazard. I almost think I should go to the police.
what should I do? I don’t know how to contact eBay to explain what is happening. They turned off their 800 number. I’d like to speak to eBay directly about this one.

I would certainly go to the police on this one.
Have you tried eBay's facebook page to get a live body to respond?
You're in a bit of a spot as ebay will approve the return anyways, you need the police report to confirm no item was sent back, and you need to report this person for mail fraud.

@corekendal_0 Okay this isn't really an issue for eBay as they are simply a platform for selling. This is a case for the police. Buyer has shipped animal feces using the USPS system so she will get in serious trouble for this act. This very well could be considered a biohazard and you have proof in that another person opened it for you. You really need to get cracking on this for other folks sake as well as your own.
This buyer is clearly having some mental issues if she thinks this is acceptable behavior. You have her name and address, possible phone number, so please contact your local police first to start the process. Then you can report her to her local police dept. It may take some effort on your part but if people don't stand up for themselves then really who can you blame for the current state of things.
Now you should report the buyer to eBay, but realize it's just a report. If they receive enough of them on this seller, hopefully others she has left negatives for have also reported her, then they can suspend her from any returns moving forward, but that's the most eBay can do. So it's important that you report the buyer to eBay as well, but don't expect much else.
Honestly I do hope you follow up on this person. She is displaying some serious issues here. Who knows how far she will go moving forward if she isn't spoken to. Receiving a negative comment from her should be the least of your concerns at this point. Please come back to post an update for the rest of us. Best of luck to you....

Refund the buyer before Ebay does.
Report the buyer for abusing the MBG.
File mail fraud and a police report, then use those reports to appeal the case.

Wow, speachless...
Yeah, Ebay does everything they can to avoid actual communication with the very people that make them rich.
Keep all photo and written documentation of this insane person and send it through every message channel you manage to locate on Ebay to report this nut, and yes, you might think about reporting it to law-enforcement or the parcel carrier as a biohazard that was mailed to you.
And don't give them a cent in refund.

Actually I completely disagree...this is absolutely an issue for Ebay along with the police. Ebay needs to remove this buyer. If they have left 40% NEGATIVE feedback, why has Ebay not removed them??? This is why we must have negative feedback for buyer back. Ebay will NOT police themselves on this issue. How many other sellers need to be abused by this buyer??

Well I’ve been trying to get eBay for the better half of the day and the emailed response from eBay is underwhelming. It’s goes like this:
Thanks for your call about your account .
We've tried to contact you but weren't able to reach you at the phone number on file xxx-xxx-xxxx(which is the correct number).... my phone has never rang and I’ve literally been starring at it all afternoon waiting for a call from eBay, no voicemail either so I know eBay DID NOT call me. I received four emailed messages of “oops sorry we missed you” from eBay.
I decided to move on. I’m not going to file a police report because I don’t think this crazy buyer deserves the attention she desperately is trying to get. So far I haven’t said a word to this nasty gross buyer. I’m going to refund the buyer and drop a hand written letter to eBay in the mail WITH PICTURES. The disgusting buyer is waiting for a confrontation and I’m not going to give it to her. I’ll also block the buyer. I mean we are talking about a 30 dollar necklace.
This buyers days are numbered. As long as other buyers report her. Where is ebays customer service? I don't know. Maybe they're all working at that other online marketplace. Who knows.

Do a Google search for Ebay phone numbers....I have done this in the past and actually talked with someone way past the gate keepers.

Well this is extremely disappointing to hear. Waiting for someone else to get involved or passing the buck to others....

Okay to clarify before my words are misconstrued, I didn't mean eBay SHOULDN'T do something about this horrible buyer. What I meant was that eBay WILL NEVER get involved in these types of issues between buyer/seller. They always try to play neutral while siding on the buyers side. I did say that seller should report the buyer to eBay, but was trying to emphasize that notifying the proper authorities would be the most efficient way to hopefully stop this person. What the buyer did was horrible and they are completely in the wrong....although now the seller wants to wash her hands of the whole thing and let someone else report them....smh....

You gotta be careful with the phone numbers found on Google lately.
There's one number and site that pops up and it isn't Ebay and members are being scammed.

Not sure I understand rolling over and letting someone not only rip you off but do this on top of it.
You have to report the buyer and follow up, the more reports the greater the chances they'll be stopped.

I call B.S, no "courier" is going to risk their job by opening a package, no matter how much a client insists.

Could the reason you decided to let it go be because it didn't happen?
That's the only reason I can see, unless you realize that your courier can be fired for opening the package.

yes go to the police, she just harassed you
