I sold an item, my buyer said it was defective, so i immediately gave him a full refund & £12 return p&p. I stated the return in the notes. I have asked him if he has tracking info, he said he has thrown the item away at the local tip. What do i do now

Unfortunately, your next move is to kiss the item goodbye. Moving forward, never refund until your buyer has opened a Return and has sent the item back to you. Sorry you found this out the hard way. Hang in there.

I have contacted the buyer several times to return my item as he did not want it. I have had no reply at all. How do I get my item returned? I have tried to call ebay several times and got no answer.

You might want to start your own thread, as your issue might be different from the OP's.
But if you have refunded a buyer without a Return being opened, you'll not likely get your item back, either.
Calling eBay several times won't help... Returns are automated. The time to be proactive has passed, unfortunately.
