30 Day Return Window

Hi.

I'm hoping to get some thoughts on Ebay's 30 Day and 60 Day return policies and time frames. I recently had a buyer request a return which was within the 30 Day time frame. However, the buyer was given almost the 30 days to return the item! It was my understanding, and I totally get it, that a buyer has 30 or 60 days to choose to return an item after purchase, but not to take all that time to return the item. Just as Ebay requires sellers to ship items within a certain time frame, buyers should also be given only a certain number of days to ship back an item after requesting to return it and not what's left of the 30 Day time window. It would sure benefit sellers if Ebay would impose a time frame after a buyer chooses to return an item, such as a 3-5 day window, to get it shipped back to the seller. After all of that waiting, the buyer never returned the item, but I still had to wait almost 30 days for any kind of resolution to take place. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks!

30 Day Return Window

Feel for your Suzie. Had the same thing happen to me. Buyer filed for return right away but waited the full 30 days to ship. Was hoping buyer would miss the deadline. Some folks enjoy playing games.

30 Day Return Window

@sueabu Thoughts? Well pretty much any seller will agree with your sentiments but there's nothing to be done about it. This platform caters to the buyer, period. That's the way it is here. So they will bend over backwards to please the buyer, because without the buyer none of us makes any money.

FYI- if buyer paid for the item using PayPal the return window is 180 days. If they used a credit card directly it can actually be longer, depending on the CC company. So you can be unhappy about the 30 day window on eBay but it can still be worse when selling online. Best of luck to you....

30 Day Return Window

They have the 30 day window to send it back - that's the case with most retail, as long as the order is returned within their return window, it is valid.  If the buyer had to return in 3-5 days, it would not longer be 30 or 60 day return.  It's not just eBay.
